Children Had Fun.

I was compelled to keep reading and I like the originality. A mix of entertainment but also perhaps touching on some deeper topics. Whatever it is, without the trip there wouldn\'t have been the poem, and I enjoyed reading it.

Tobani…this one touched something deep. 🦋 That first half? Felt like my mirror. That second? Like a hope I still dare to hold. You captured both truths with such tenderness and clarity. Quietly powerful, my friend. Truly beautiful. 🌹👏

A wonderful journey poem. The butterfly is seen as madly flying in circles at first and then gracefully dancing in the air.The author changes from questioning if the butterfly mimics his life to wanted to be the butterfly.Wonderful philosphical question here.Enjoyed reading

The two sides of a coin being the same coin but seen differently. I love this dichotomy that you have depicted in this poem. And the image of a butterfly so well chosen image of metamorphosis, subject of the ancient story of the wise man\'s dream of being a butterfly and now not knowing if he is a butterfly dreaming he is a person or a person that dreamed he was a butterfly. A fave

Whether or not thy wish is granted I canna say certainly, however, history is a very, very fascinating study, whence my favorite authors in highschool: Sir Walter Scott, James Fenimore Cooper, and Jane Austen. More power to you, delving into that most engaging subject. Beautifully rendered with excellent imagery and a delightfully haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.

Dang! Now my late father\'s warning returns as I mourn my ruined figure thanks to your excellent reminder. I love this! Pithy sayings few can argue with and laced with such humor it\'s like Mary Poppins sang about a little sugar helping the medicine to go down more easily. Delightful and beautifully rendered with a touch of imagery and haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.

Excellent text, Master. I completely agree with you impartially. War and its consequences hurt, but truthfully, what hurts me more is that the economic interests of the gun owner are indifferent or even excuse themselves, eternally lost in cynicism. It hurts to see my brothers fight. Thank you for sharing. Regards.

Some are going to be repaid for the horrors. It won\'t be in the misunderstood sense of \'suffer little children to come unto me\'. In that case, it simply means \'allow little children.....\' We can only hope some will suffer for it in judgement in the \'punishment\' sense, not merely in the sense of \'use your own judgement\' in making choices, etc.

No...you are not antiSemitic. And in this scenario YOU CANNOT BE as both the Israelis and the Palestinians are Semites and therefore Semitic. There, that solves that faux issue! Six feet under. Laid to rest. 🤣 You are welcome, my friend!

Again, you are not antiSemitic, you are discerning. No one I know supports Hamas or what they stand for, but who are getting maimed and killed here? And how many? Your poem speaks to this and I, for one, applaud it no matter what anyone else might think. 🌹👏

Couldn’t agree more with most of your sentiments, Tobani. I have stated many times that innocent people die in war, and (despite a very vacuous ‘poet’ here attempting to pervert my intention) I maintain that I should utilize that in any antiwar rhetoric I may produce.
Nor can I better your statement: ‘I do not support or condone Hamas or am I anti-semitic, I hate to see the murdering of any people.’
However a number of elements:
The history (and it is always history) which goes well back before the Hamas attack on Israel has evolved into this current situation. Israel sees Hamas as a threat and why should it not? The logic is to eliminate Hamas, which I understand was voted for by the Palestinians and is imbedded deep in the population.
And please, leave the children out of it – they shouldn’t (how many times should I have to mention this?) have been pumped out in the first place.
Great write though.

It appears the newscasters are on your side, or what? There are at least a couple angles on this for me, my late mother noting too many years ago by now that this modern age has a rather odd seeming sanctity for life when you begin to compare the numbers with that of ancient times; on that same angle, more or less, atrocities and virtual massacres were apparently commonplace in ancient times, when I examine the record casually. Thirdly, there is no \"news\"-- all is simply propaganda (one of my brothers showed me that years ago.) Fourthly, if you read James Thurber, you\'ll learn (as I did several years ago) this is no new phenomenon-- the aka \"news\" has been horribly negative forever...another reminder it\'s not news, but rather propaganda-- in that light, another of my brothers too many years ago wisely advocated we leave off this preoccupation with the \"news\" [propaganda] because it IS negative, and it doesn\'t help our daily perspective and approach to life, which I tried out and found quite useful. But I\'ve talked too much. Beautifully rendered with excellent imagery and a fitly haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.

Politics, greed, history, religion are a deadly mix. The Torah does not include the New Testament there is no turn the other cheek it remains an eye for an eye. In such situations it always the innocent that suffer on both sides. The guilty protect themselves. A sad situation for all.
