WOW MIKE ~ SCARY ~ You don\'t know just how appropriate your abstract is to the POEM ! It depicts \"The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (Revelations chapter 6) !\"
The WHITE HORSE represents the ANTICHRIST ~ The RED HORSE is WAR ~ The BLACK HORSE is FAMINE and the GREEN HORSE is DEATH ! The Book of Revelation reads like SF but it is a Prophecy of the End Times and very scary as is your POEM !

A LIFELESS LAND (2100 & Beyond ?)
Stagnant ~ lifeless ~ weeping & dank !
No BIRDS ~ no (animal or insect sounds)
Only H. Sapiens retreating ~ seeking
Seeking for Higher Ground ~ AWESOME !

Thanks for scaring & sharing ! The reason I saw the FOUR HORSEMEN in the abstract is because I am preparing a Poem on them and was looking at appropriate paintings so I had that image in my mind ! I apologise for \"spiritualising\" your intriguing abstract and enigmatic poem ~ but that is how they spoke to me ~ OK ~ Yours Father BRIAN !
Please check SUMMER LOVIN\' Thanks B.

MIKE ~ Look closely at your abstract L to R
and you will clearly see ~ as I did ~
GREEN HORSE ~ BLACK HORSE ~ RED HORSE
Then very clearly WHITE HORSE ~ uncanny !
Also the RAVEN (Left) read to prey on the DEAD !

An eerie landscape with the perfect picture to go with it....... we have \"pocket\" areas like this where there may have been a fire and half-burned dead trees stand in swampy bits with buzzards living in them........ right in the heart of beautiful rolling green ...... they are haunted places I think.

Hmm, brought to mind the mother in laws garden. Only difference was, in her garden you could hear faint anguised wailing from a chasm which was her direct communication link with Hades.
I looked up from my screen and once again the sun was shining through my window. I shuddered at your melancholy words having taken me to so barren a place.

A fine write Michael. I was not on desolate land, but was in the middle of nowhere, on country walks, where some tracks ran out at times - not well-trodden enough! Then extra tracks which were not on a map. Ahh, the ideal place to consign my singing to!

That is a wonderful poem Michael, the desolation it brings is amazing.

Glad to see the abstracts are back, I can see so much in your abstract artworks - thank you.

Michael,
Great couplets and a great pic! I’ve never seen that color poppies before...only the red variety in my grandmother’s wheat fields in Italy when I was very young and later in life on men’s jacket’s lapel!

Your garden pictures are poems in themselves! And I adore the silver in the garden peeking out..........not sure I understand the second couplet - if they fade in life, why soonest in death?

A fine couple of couplets, and pic Michael. Is memories of me singing soon lost, or remembered for ever, even haunting ya after death?! heehee.

Thanks for SEPTOLETTING ~ Michael and the EUPHORIA (Freudian spello) to add a little colour for the workers ! Love the sentiment in the Poem reminds me of YESTERDAY 80+ F on the Essex Coast ~ even the SEA was warm ! I have written a MORPHIC Poem today to emphasis SHAPE ~ I was educated in a proper Secondary School where the SHAPE of a written poem was important. In JAPANESE HAIKU the visual impact is an important factor in the intrinsic beauty of the poem ~ I will present a DIABLO tomorrow ! Between us we may yet convince Members that the FORM of a POEM is just as important as its FUNCTION ! If it catches the EYE then it will engage the MIND ! Yours BRIAN

I\'m mad crazy about your sculpture here. In my deranged inner sight it represents existence, the circular representing an ageing \'being\' trapped between a \'chock\' and a hard place, all performed on an ever decaying plinth.

HI MIKE ~ You are a POETRY MASTER and I endorse your detailed memo differentiating between a HAIKU (Nature & Seasons) and a SENRYU (everything else !) many people call all 5 7 5 poems HAIKU which devalues the difference ! TANKAS (which have 31 syllables in a 57577 format) are H & S with attitude and can be on any subject ! H & S are often (deliberately) open ended the final two lines 7 7 are for explanation ! It is a poetic minefield ! I love the \"transience\" in your SENRYU ! When i visited the FLINTSTONES I saw a sculpting very similar to yours on the mantle-piece ! FRED told me it was called WHEEL \'N WEDGE and is a classic ! Thanks for caring about the Structure and Form of Written Poetry. For me as a Teacher of Poetry to Adult ~ Structure and Shape of a Written Poem (I can\'t understand why some on MPS present good poems as continuous PROSE ?) is important as is the Syllabus Pattern. Rhyme Pattern and Verse (Stanza) Length is also important for PRESENTATION & PERFORMANCE (Recitation) Poetry is ORAL and AURAL and (for me) Poetry Readings are always very fulfilling and exciting ~ Here endeth the Last Lesson ~ Yours BRIAN

Ohh, perceive, receive,.... \'i\' before \'e\' except after \'c. But why is it in \'seize\' but not in \'siege\'? Gotta lie down to recover after pneumo-wotsit. Used too many brain cells to say it! See ya in about 3 hours!

Michael,
This exquisite write and line figures remind me of Cinderella at the ball dancing with the Prince!
I’m sure that’s not what you had in mind; but, as Hood told me once, there are as many interpretations as there are readers!

Loved the read and drawing! I’ve just framed it and hung it!
