Cheers Brian - as for friends etc :

The corn stands erect in tiers,
like friends and Romans and countrymen;
perhaps it’ll lend me its ears.

I can see a cats face in that abstract. Again I would like to see the original, there is certainly something about it that talks to me.

Bill Waggadagga was drummed into me at school back in the distant path so I never liked him. I went to see Macbeth recently and it only reinforced my feelings of dislike. Did he write all those plays anyway?

Thanks Phil - they\'re sharing breakfast as we speak. So glad I got drawn into this - it was a bit of fun as well as ending up with a half decent piece of poetry in a form I\'d not come across before.

So my favorite couple in the house with the creaking stairs, which they took longer to climb than I do my stairs, had found the right key after all, and now share some physical bliss, but only until morning, when it will take them another week to go back down, unless they slide on the banister. A great joy shared by us all, thank you Michael. - Phil A.

Cheers Brian - yes it\'s my lane although I live behind the cottages to the left. Must agree about the last line - I often have one in mind even before I start scribing.

thanks goldfinch and yes its wheels are on the path - the road is quite narrow. Interestingly this is my road in the village and my property is set back behind the cottages - it is private in front of my property and there is also a paved section which belongs to me. However when they had a bit of a clampdown on pavement parking a few years back I had a note on my windscreen saying I was illegally parked and I had great pleasure in telling the authorities (armed wit h a copy of the deeds) that it was they who had acted illegally be entering into a private cul-de-sac.

I have done my bit of \"gloomy\" and have yet more gloom to add.
However i have tried to balance the books with a few recent efforts. Which are bit lighter and a couple more to come over the next few weeks. Mixed in with the darker stuff of course. Hope they cheer you up as much as this cheered me.
