Beautifully said, Fay. I still remember driving on my motorcycle on the \'Avenue of the Giants\' , the famous road through the redwoods in Humboltd county in Northern California. Google \'Avenue of the Giants\' and click on \'images\'. They are awsome!

I love poems like this Fay. I can read them over and over again. I have a file full, by many authors, on the computer.
Kipling\'s \'Way Through The Woods\' is still top of the tree for me.

Blissful, amazing, wonderful writing. I share your reverie for these beautiful living creations.
I was thrilled to read your post today. Mind you i am a lover of woodland, a place where we humans are the intruder.... i tread respectfully and feel the wonder. Maybe i leave with something of wisdom.
An absolute must for my favourites.

Nature\'s world is so wonderful at the moment without us spoiling it, I do hope people can see this and keep it that way in the future.
Good words as ever Fay.

I\'m sceptical since watching the Stephen Fry interview with Gay Byrne where Fry poses \'just how wonderful is the creator of life forms which capture another life form, disable it and inject it with eggs which will eat the second being alive from inside it. He went on to say, if god is that creator i don\'t want to worship him/her/it.
However, hopefully they are a minority and out of view. For most life forms i agree that creation is wonderful. We ourselves are far from a wonderful perfection of life ... we know all to well about our imperfection.
Difficult subject and i feel i\'m the fly in the ointment over this today. Apologies.

A fine write Fay. Talking of ants, I tried to save a flying ant thingy from a shop, but I could not. There was a risk of getting stung - a hornet? Maybe it wanted to go shopping?!

A lovely invitation for your reader to wonder what it would be like to be born wild into the wilderness where your every day is filled with the sounds of ... shall we say \'silence\' and animal/birdsong. I\'m sure the plantlife would be eminating some sort of signals with which one would empathise. After all, were we not in a more truthful harmony with our rural surroundings before the powerbase of organised religion (yes including the druids) made its demands upon our mentality.

LOL @ \'batons raised\' lovely use here.
Am I right in thinking that most deforestation now takes place to create grazing land for cattle to feed our increasing demand for red meat (burgers) in the capitalist economy.
Politicallt, for the last few years we have seen movement toward nationalism across the world and rejection of globalisation (look at brexit and similar in europe and trumps policies in usa). One wonders whether this will continue into the forested areas and external capitalist encroachment will be stamped out. The current virus will certainly create a backlash to global trade (we found out u.k. cant produce enough of what it needs) and we may see a wind of change.
I planted a tulip tree in 2005/6, It would be nice to see more people planting trees in u.k. we\'ve seen enoughbeing removed from the urban environment.
Very thought provoking poetry from you today, powerful. I am not a \'sit back and watch it happen - oh we asked for/deserve this\' type of mentality. I am part of a silent majority who are dissatisfied and seek change though we do not pick up a baton to beat someone with.
