When we are faced with the EMPTINESS in our lives occasioned by the death of a Loved One (V1.) echoes in our memories of past embraces ! I confront the regret
That we had no chance for farewells !
Our experience is the Death of Grandparents and the premature & sudden demise .of Friends & Relations ~ However reading the context if yt is the Death of Partner ~ the pain is magnified a thousand fold ! Thanks for sharing ~ AMEN

Tho not a victim myself in the strictest sense, my adult life has been spent trying to help others less fortunate and certainly, those who experience the oft seriously debilitating effects of depression and the major affective disorders.... I so hope this does the trick.....

Your poem paints a different picture from Owens Poem
of Young Soldiers in the First World War (1914 ~ 18) defiantly
singing their Way to DO or DIE ! This is probably nearer the
TRUTH ~ BUT ~ apart from SILENT NIGHT there probably
was not a lot of singing in the TRENCHES ! I was born in 1983
so Ive never had to do NATIONAL SERVICE and joining the Armed
Forces is optional. Fiends of mine who served in IRAQ etc found
many aspects traumatic. I guess WWI & WW2 (1939 - 45) were very different ?
