A picture is worth a thousand words, they say. Your poem conjures up that feeling of loneliness and regret in only a few words. Well done!

A fine write Fay. I was on about a hymn: \'When a knight won his spurs\'. This fits to it perfectly, so I shall sing it! Arrgghhhh, they all say. lol. It\'s in 12.12.12.12. metre, though the hymn is slightly irregular metre I think.

How melancholy can be those final train departures. The innocent yearning, harshly learning stood against the wall in your picture so evocative of her dilemma and pain.

And future holds a jolt of fear and yet hope with each distant train\'s whistle.

Beautifully emotional poetry Fay. Concise but truly conveys young love\'s entry into the big real world timelessly.

For the sheer mastery of this genre this piece deserves to be in everyone\'s favourites.

Love your poem, Fay. Silence is definitely underrated. Unfortunately I have tinnitus, so even if it is quiet I still have all that noise.

You\'ve encapsulated the beauty of silent times here very well indeed. For satisfaction with silence is a clear path to self knowledge, exploring ones inner mind, reasoning away from the everyday.

For those who look perhaps deeper still a spiritual awareness begins to be realised. Evidence of this can be seen from without when reading some of our fellow poets on mps who quite obviously have ventured well into silence.

Another very enjoyable read Fay. Stimulating, I look forward to commenting on your deliveries here.

Noises can be good or bad but silence is always silence. We can be so grateful for silence Fay, as you so well say. A special piece, I think, therefore must be a fave\' if you will allow me.

Ah, Fay and the dawning, harmony.

Yes indeed the dawning for the ageing mind is a reminder that the more seed sewn today, the richer the harvest be for those years ahead.....

Alll i need now is the vigour to go out there a sewing!

Do the young sparrows crowd to tap your windows in the morning begging \"tell us more stories of days dawnings please Oh Fay of the Rising Day\"

Beautifully written poem of \'love\'s story\' in mature years and the inevitable toll of our humanity.

The \'Why\' we all ask is perennial as the wind which blows, and the wind upon a tear stained bears no answer as solace instead begins to dull the pain and haunt the eyes.
