It must have been a fast end from the violence of the car splitting in half.... something in me thinks that they were having a very exhilarating \"rush\" of excitement driving that fast......... and then nothing..... so as long as they didn\'t kill anyone else, they went to Valhalla having some fun. We\'re all here for such a short time - life is pretty meaningless really and death is a friend. You certainly caught the shock of the survivor.

Thanks for sharing FAY ~ As a Young Lady on the treshold of Life & Love I am in the position of one who has kept emotions and *favours* fettered and out of bounds. However with BRIAN (especially in the confines of a Camper Van !) some (but not all) of those fetters are beginning to fall ! I was raised a strict Catholic and mainly attended All Girls Schools and worked in a Profession which had a lot of Females ! When I started courting and ones sensual experience progressed and Boys asked me about progressing to the next stage my answer was always NO ! Fortunately they were Gentlemen : we didn\'t get drunk : and no one forced themselves on me and I never dated older or married MEN !
Therefore I remained to some extent innocent. I knew what to do : but never did it. I was a good role model for *Our Lady* ! However when I met Brian : I said YES even before HE asked ! I read somewhere that TRUE LOVE surrenders without coercion because it is its nature to submit ! Im sharing this with YOU because your POEM really made me think ! What was it about Brian that just made my fetters (of which I was very very proud) : just fall away a few Months after we met : AMEN That is my interpretation : OK My innocence was not taken from ME : I surended it voluntarilly to TRUE LOVE : AMEN !
Blessings & Love

apologies for my late response my friend... I have visited these words several times already today.. it would be far too easy just to congratulate you for another very fine poem ... however, I feel it was only fitting to try and rise to the challenge and consider each metaphor in succession.... having now done so.... I think it is reasonable to suggest that your poem \'Unfettered\' might be seen and interpreted in several quite different ways... there is of course the feeling of liberation when one has been deliberating over something for a long period of time and finally decides to go for it... the oh what the hell kind of attitude.. there is also the almost undefinable lightness and freedom that one might experience on being set free... from a relationship, or confinement of any kind.. and the blindingly bright and uncluttered joy of being enlightened, either in the true Buddhist sense or of discovering something of great magnitude...... there are a further two that spring to mind also.. but whatever the case... this is an impressive write and if I have happened to untangle the inspiration behind these words... our secret will be safe with me.... THANKS FOR SHARING FAY ~ This is a masterpiece in both Structure & Substance ! Line 1 3 5 are monosyllabic & environmental ~ They are amplified by longer lines (2 4 6). Line 7 (bisyllabic) poses a Question ~ Yet what ~ Whay tho\' ~ But what ! Line 8 questions the ardour in Lines (2 4 6) in each verse. Methinks the responses in Lines 8 are those of a Female regretting that the flowery words (2 4 6) did not lead to amorous acts ! In my experience Ladies take time to warm up (emotionally) but when they do the Libido of thoughtless Men has begun to wane ? With ANGELA I try to move at her pace ~ VIRGOS (which I am !) are very understanding LOVERS !
