The song is still there since once it existed it can be sung again
Once again let\'s sing together the songs that united our hearts. Fay, this is a beautiful poem.

A fine write, Fay.
Eloquently expressed. Love is often best understood as memory.

.. very occasionally, I run out of, or can not find the right words to express the way in which certain collections of words make me feel .. \'Once\' is a good example and I shall say only this once ..

\'Amazingly awesome\' ... anything else would swiftly become but a cliché ... x

I have, for a very long time, been contemplating on writing about this very cycle of water and wrote many a lines, but out of frustration left them unfinished, and now I know why - I don’t have your talent.

I remember your \'Myself\' Fay from the time this little beauty headlined before .. I think maybe twice even ..

anyway, I thought you should know, not only is \'Myself\' worth airing every now and again, but it loses none of the original impact or appeal during my subsequent visits ... x

Oh this can so easily be transposed into ones own life having grown up in the countryside and matured into the hubbub of a big city.
One\'s roots stay within the character and become the pivot upon which all judgement is made.

Into my favourites with pleasure.

The river\'s growth and passage captured in rich descriptive personification.
I\'d really have wanted to see you create that, Fay - did it just pour gently, then fast, like the river, out of you, or did you sometimes find your self drift off into a tributary and then need to force yourself back to the main flow...?

simply Beautiful - as ever, dear Fay
\'where my hum
is welcomed
by mossy pebbles
and where birds come
to drink and wet
feet and feathers
in my warm shallows
before I roll on
having to settle
for large water duets\'

Brilliant!
your poem could make Love blossom
in a divorce court!

This getting older business is getting exhausting with all this reminiscing stuff. I\'ll be worn out. Wouldnt be without me memories though.
Love the way you use words.

I love nature, in this poem, I can see the beauty of the sun cut its exit, lowered its lashes, and spread heaven over new feelings.\" Our feelings, though, are not new but stretch back many years. Awesome poem with many feelings oozing from each word.

Good write, Fay.
I was homeless in California.
Rowling was homeless in London.
I became an advertising artist.
She became the world\'s best-known writer. The line between good and bad luck is razor-thin.

Not, as you point out Neville, typical, your Brian.
Where I live, when covid ramps up (as it is beginning to right now...) the homeless get rounded up and popped into hotels for the duration and then sent back out again -aah!
Like your word picture though, Fay.

It can happen to anyone and for just as many different reasons as there are individuals who find themselves in the unenviable situation you have so magnificently portrayed ...

Having worked in the field of mental health, I know very few who would choose to remain homeless if they were given the choice ...

in all my years, I can only think of one ... his name was Brian, now long gone ..
I have often thought about trying to immortalise him but think maybe, your \'Solitary\' has broke the back of the work I had been struggling with ...
and for that and so many other things, I thank thee ... x

\'Alone that nameless spectre,
he of the back
bent and misshapen accepted
no charity
but lasted to out-live landed
rich gentry\'..
what a hauntingly vivid portrait
your words paint, dear Fay
how sobering,
yet also how remarkable that dignity
you imbue your portrayal with...
a glimpse of your empathetic brilliance
in all its Poetic glory
