Great wisdom there, Fay.
Most significantly you do include an apology (and I suspect implied, an explanation) as an initiating part of the process.

yeah, that Forgive - part
seldom aligns with our inability
to Forget... and so, we often doom ourselves
to that cycle of unhealed, yet
hurriedly, plunging hearts...
there\'s a genuine seriousness
to your choice wording, dear Fay
that insures we read and relate on a level
very intimate and personal,
unnervingly-so, at times;
a great write!

So true. The purposefulness of life falls away when ones love affair ends on such wrong notes as you describe. On the other hand though a feeling of release, freedom and back to enjoying being ones self can be welcome. It rather depends upon how one feels about break-up.
Your sensitive wording took me back to endings i have lived through. I\'m pleased to report the last one found me welcoming the freedom.

You have clearly defined in poetic form the desolate void which attends the end of a close relationship, Fay.
Cannot state I enjoyed this, but acknowledge the rich descriptive qualities in your piece.
Thanks.
