aaaaah, twilight and dusk... the magical times as shadows deepen.
I love that first line, such a relaxed feel of night flowing across the sky. Well I love the whole poem, my fav time of day.
Going into my favs too.

Good write, Fay.
Enjoyed the fish tale and the death of the fly. Good twist.

Many creatures have to hunt to survive, whether omnivores or carnivores, even one as beautiful as the gold fish. But, the art of hunting has so romantically been voiced, as this poem.

think I remember this image
not sure if its the same write though?
or if I\'m imagining the whole thing
(which I probably am) lol
as ever worded like, it\'s:
\'Glistening
beneath dim - watery shades\'..
(what a beautiful take
on those harsh reality\'s of nature, dear Fay)

Oh so many harmless looking beautiful little creations are killers in disguise. I know, I have the scars of close encounters with several vicious pretty\'s.
If reincarnation exists, please dont let me come back as a fly.
Beauty and horror in your post today... or is it my weird interpretation.

Nice, I have never thought of a goldfish as a hunter before. Let go from goldfish bowls into lakes they can get massive in size, and eat more than flies.

The image sets the tone, but your words gave it meaning, as the saline waves, understandable, accepted the tears

I am pretty sure that even if these amazing words, this sonnet of yours did not have your name tagged to it, I would have still been able to identify you as the poet behind it ..... x

Much sadness in your words. They brought to mind how, whilst in low mood of heart matters, we see the world continuing on around us whether it be the exciting crash of waves upon rocks in sunshine or mundane estuary at low tide twilight. They become personal and influence our thoughts.
I felt the loneliness of the scene you describe as if I were there.

\'Gulls shadow night-fall
like fragile omens
as mist fills this twilight
in salty defeat.\'
what choice wording and seamless flow
you managed to create
that artistic yet sympathetic
moody: noir-esque feel
in such a short write,
what a wonderful treat,
thank you, dear Fay

a little masterpiece Fay ... perfectly formed and pinned to the page with a very fine and light dusting of noir and casting shadows afore it ..

I am also reminded of old B&W films pf yesteryear for some reason ...

Top marks again from me .... x

Tip-toeing between your words are wraith like cheeky smiles, teasing the senses, the corners of imagination - there! peeping out from behind the ivy, whispering in the echos and mostly haunting our memories.
Delightful read which dances with the nicest of half visioned whispers to tickle.

\'Because each granite-necked, minute
strangles past bliss
shall grief\'s set vessel, so anchored
reach, love\'s fair coastline no more ?

Shall a tear-drenched spark
within dark\'s loss
not fire venturesome\'s calling ?\'
(I just wanted to unravel and point out
that magic flow, you hide - knowingly
so we lesser scribblers, can get a glimpse
of your Poetry\'s
unquestionable brilliance, dear Fay)
A great write!
