Some of the points made here are so true Andy - - yet the message of life can come through music at times more clearly than from a pulpit - I love the composition you chose to illustrate this too.

Andy,
A fine write which I enjoyed reading. It does resonates!

I liked the clip very much! The last time I heard “Fanfare for the Common Man” was at the Memorial Service for Arnold Palmer!

So it\'s true! People do nod off in sermons. A pity, as we wish preachers would hold us in rapt attention. But sometimes in a cuckoo-land or dream-land. Did he preach for what seemed like an eternity?
And how\'s those church meetings?! heehee.

You are getting philosophical this Sunday ANDY ! Thanks for showcasing SHIRLEY BASSEY ~ A very exceptional and powerful voice. Diamond ~ as you point out ~ is a form (allotrope) of CARBON which is brilliant in light. It is the hardest mineral known ! Ironically the softest substance known GRAPHITE ~ is also CARBON but with a layer structure (hence its use as a lubricant and its ability to conduct electricity !) rather than the giant 3D molecular structure of DIAMOND. A Friend of mine collected DIAMONDS (as an investment) but did not keep them in a fire~proof safe. there was a fire an thousands of pounds worth of DIAMONDS turned into CARBON DIOXIDE and vanished into thin air ! So Diamonds like all Earthly Things are transients and never forever ! Ladies if you fall out with your husband ~ never throw your diamond ring on the fire ~ throw it in the trash and retrieve it the next day and sell it ! Thanks for sharing ~ BRIAN Loved the Poem ~ Please check mine \"IN THE GARDEN\" ! Thanks B !

Andy,

There should be more young men such as the one you met with such enthusiasm for the work he was doing! Bravo to the young man!

“Brindisi” is one of my favorite arias from La Traviata! Upbeat and delightful!
May your days be bright and filled with song, laughter, and some wine!
Brindiamo! 🍷🍷
A fine write! I enjoyed the read and the aria! Whenever I hear that aria, I want to get up and dance...and then I remember the whole opera!

Andy,
So happy you’re here writing all these wonderful poems!
I cannot even imagine the feeling of knowing you could have died because of that growth! It is a gift being given a second chance to live. Now I really comprehend why you always see the light no matter what and telling us that the light is there...we just have to look for it if we don’t see it!
A great write for an amazing read! A perfect Louis Armstrong song!
So happy to have met you on MPS! You are an inspiration!

(1) I am very glad you lived Andy! (2) Is this literal? Did you really become positive most/all of the time? Wow! (3) If so, you have found a (drastic) cure for depression! (4) If you became positive because they cut away half, aren\'t you glad they cut the right half - if they had cut the other side, would you have become severely depressed? So many questions! At the end of the day what counts is that you made it!

Thanks ANDY ~ A Wonderful example of \"The Power of thinking POSITIVELY\" and focusing on \"That which is GOOD ~ AMEN\" Thanks for your comment which I found helpful ! If only it were that simple for the rest of us ! A simple operation to accentuate the POSITIVE and eliminate the NEGATIVE ! I am grateful that GOD chose to make me an OPTIMIST and not a PESSIMIST ~ AMEN Louis\' version of WONDERFUL WORLD (and the video) is a perfect compliment to your TESTIMONY ! Lovely clip and song too - from early days, we remember. There\'s one of my \'twinges\' again - a tear falls involuntarily - from MY soul? You\'ve not \'gone\' yet. You\'ve poems to write, among many other good things!

Wow! Unless you were so appreciative for your second chance in life that you never quite saw life in the same way again.
People with \'half a soul\', maybe the negative half, can be found at church business meetings! There you will find that other \'half of your soul\'.heehee.

I am a fan David Brubeck. I like, \'Take Five\'. They have a nice reggea version of it. It is the same song. Only, they changed the name to, \'The Russians Are Coming. I don\'t know why, but it is just like, \'Take Five\', with a reggea twist. You should listen to it.
Persistence is key
