I wrote a poem like this too. It started: \"I lay in a darkened room / Recovering from sherries.....\"Then I did not write any more! Strange that. lol.

I like this a lot. The feeling it gives is similar to how it feels outside right now. Good one Finch.

Aaaaaah so you\'re not a punk fan eh. Funny that, i\'ve pictured you with a lime green mohican scribing away at your poetic niche whilst twiddling the safety pins thru your nostrils. But not really. Amazed at how you create something like this out of the ether.

Music, as well as anything that stirs emotions, is a great trigger for a poem to emerge. I\'ve shared your experience, Goldie, and can appreciate this poem. Thanks for sharing!

Do You Take Sugar?
Heather T said:

This just wrecked me for you, sir. I was extremely close to my maternal grandmother, and it made me think of some of the things she started to say as she got worse. We lost her to pneumonia before she got very bad. I remember the first time she forgot how to turn on the shower. Oh, I\'m just holding the both of you so close in my thoughts and prayers.

The everyday question asked by your wife intensified the sadness of your situation. Dementia is a very cruel disease - more for the spouse having to watch the decline of a loved one. Your poem left me feeling quite sad.
