Very nice tribute Goldfinch. All good things must come to an end, I guess. But, at least there are the recordings to play over and over. :)

Good write. I\'ve visited churches occasionally where it turned out to be the farwell sermon of a priest. I heard him/her for the first - and last - time. Not that I went to say \'good riddance\' to them, or \'don\'t hurry back to see us again\'. Though there\'s been ones that I could have gone to with that motive! Oops!

I hate to say this but Mozart isn\'t top of my league - mine would be Beethoven, Bach, Brahms and Mahler but your words could apply equally to any of them.

Orange and Yellow.
BRIAN & ANGELA said:

Thanks for sharing and caring ANDY. Pictures often stir my muse and the result is what I call a TONE POEM and ORANGE & YELLOW is such a one. Seeking to abstract the meaning from a BICOLOR ! MONOCHROMES ~ especially WHITE on WHITE and BLACK on BLACK (Suprematist Paintings) leave everything to the imagination and are the ultimate. BRIAN

As soon as I saw I thought \'Ah Rothko\'. Really do like this poem which doesn\'t simply dismiss the abstract but takes you into it - great stuff Goldfinch. I\'ll pop it into my favourites.

A great ode to a natural beauty. I think it loves being there as much as you love it, hence why it comes back every year.

swingline said:

I have a collection of sunrise and sunset pictures of clouds . I wish this site was more liberal about posting pictures . I love clouds ! At night between the moon and me .Racing thunderstorm clouds on the Prairie . Cottonball clous on a warm summer\'s day . The calico gray of winter announcing snow is on the way . Clouds YAY !

Sensitive write, with hope. Not as if \'Doom and gloom; the end is nigh\'.

I love to garden too . Much hard work but the results are gratifying usually . All our Iris have flowered and are done for the year . It has been a brutal sing for early bloomers . Here it is May 7 and there was almost a frost Friday night . Several of my flowering plants that can\'t take the cold have already died . Each one I mourn . I guess you can see your poem has touched me . And it should .

Beautiful verse with a lovely picture of Iris Siberica - the trouble is their flowering period is so short lived but so welcome nonetheless.

Have the Aliens Landed?
WriteBeLight said:

That is so very true Goldfinch. I was on a cruise boat years ago that allowed gambling. It would sail out for a few miles and people could then gamble in the casino. I was not in the casino, but topside (one of two passengers, there) and the others below missed the most beautiful sunset ever! I will never forget that. So, mobile devices are like gambling in a way ... very addictive. And, some are gambling with their lives, as they are in danger of just walking right out into traffic. Your words are spot on!

Have the Aliens Landed?
Michael Edwards said:

There are such great feats of architure all around us if we only look up, there is beautiful bird song to be heard, there are meals to be enjoyed and celebrated, there are people to talk to, there is the wonder of nature. They must be aliens missing out on all this with their heads buried in their gadgets listening to what some refer to as music.
