Lorna,
Oddly enough this write
of yours made me smile!
It made me remember my
favorite cousin. He was
always smiling no matter
what! Iāll always remember
him as when I saw him the
last time! Whenever we saw
each other, we would
reminisce about the good
old days! We would laugh
so hard and always enjoyed
each otherās company! He
never did let me know he
was diseased with cancer!
When he died, I was unable
th attend his funeral!
I am glad I didnāt because
Iāll always remember him
smiling, laughing, talking...
AND NOT IN A COFFIN!

A well-deserved winner of any poetic competition to express the feel of Spring in the air - - I love the title and subject dear Lorna and could see you and Silence walking those pine-woods.

Yes copyright laws can get a bit \'deep\' in both the States and here in the UK. On another site I am always contributing to any queries raised having lectured in copyright in my working life. It would appear that transfer of copyright appeared in the terms of the competition which you effectively accepted when entering. I doubt if they\'ll pursue you for posting it here - it would be churlish of them if they did especially as you have acknowledged their rights. Anyway that aside I can see why it won - a superb work Lorna

A lovely write Lorna. That\'s a bit much, that the competition organisers now OWN your poem.
Surely you can\'t pinch your own poem?! You know, that big word, if we nick anyone else\'s work - plagi-wotsit. Plagiarising! It sends poets into a mad fury, and rightly so I think. Elsewhere they \'outed\' a poet who was pinching other\'s work. He got hellfire and damnation comments. But that\'s YOUR work!
