Superfluous Twists

A sad poem Neville. I can think of a simile or two that would describe the feelings I picked up here. Not a pleasant situation to encounter. Emotionally challenging I would say.
paupers twine is such an original description
No one wants to be a laughing stock or clown.
Painfully penned I would say.

I might do with a super floss but my teeth get a dunking every night so it’s kinda superfluous- and I’ve derailed and gone off topic… yet again! Sorry mate.

Great wordplay in this poem Neville. The meaning may be multiple, but the initial one for me was that fall comes to those who fall to lust in general. I love the wording in this one

Letting Go of Your Ghost

Poignantly conveyed lines of loss where the wound still remains deep. Not easy to forget those memories, they can return at any time. A touching poem Neville. Haunting even.

Letting Go of Your Ghost

You can let go of the \"Ghost.\" but the \"Ghost\" may not let go of you. \"Ghosts\" can hide in your closet, in your bed, behind your sofa, or the back seat of your car. There is no escape, only making a gentle arrangement. Honestly, we all have fond memories of someone we loved and lost, and who\'s memory we cannot shake. It\'s best to cherish the memory and endure the longing. Your poem captures the essence of this dilemma beautifully. Loved it. - Phil A.

Ah… there it is… something that I know about and sometimes wish I didn’t for some past connection that hasn’t really passed… you got that one nailed in poetry…. Yet ghosts go right through walls…

Today’s athlete’s foot was once trench feet and one barely remembers the climate in which they laboured. Perhaps one day a fuller understanding will reside, with breadth and depth and pride.

Good write N. We got a little bored of it at school. Partly because of our age of youth maybe, but a rather gruff Colonel-type teacher gave us a \'lecture\' of it each November. Probably entitled \'I remember when....!\' lasting about 5 hours - or it felt that long.

Indeed, lest we forget Neville. I went to church yesterday dressed in suit and tie as a sign of respect for those who had fallen and I was somewhat annoyed that I was only one of half a dozen who dressed appropriately, even the preacher (not a vicar) was not wearing a tie and they were 7 minutes late for the eleven o\'clock two minute silence. I get very annoyed when people do not show proper respect on these occasions.

As a teenager I theorized that every human being lives and dies as a god, or at least the son of one, and that the man called Jesus was no different than the rest of us, and that we are all crucified in the end. I never had anyone make that point, intentionally or otherwise, till now.

Emophilia has a totally new added meaning, you know... it means adoring those kids with purple lipstick and sad eyes and pink hair bumming cigarettes and doodling little puppies in their notebooks. But my question is, how much did the doc bill for that hour?
