Carpe diem, those that hesitate are lost. Some opportunities come only once in a life time. So well said

Hesitations in hindsight are brought on by naivety, and the number of moments lost are a testament and measure of my naive youth!

Early days, Neville, early days. Them statues certainly had something to say perhaps not quite then...

\'Hesitations\' at that time, has a certain resonance for me.......

Well, I\'m now much more informed today than yesterday, when I didn\'t know what a medlar and bletting were. Research left me wondering what they would taste like. I read of everything from applesauce to caramel. I asked my wife if she\'d ever heard of them and she said, \"No,\" I explained to her about bletting, and she threatened to hang me from a tree and let me slowly weep. Doesn\'t sound too promising for any medlar jams or jellies. So, thank you for the exposure to medlars, I am now a wiser man. - Phil A.

Medlar, is a large shrub or small tree in the rose family Rosaceae; Blet, ā€˜a state of softness or decay in certain fruits, such as the medlar, brought about by overripeningā€™. (getting thereā€¦) Fell down at Coptic jar, as I ainā€™t going to break into any glass case in some museumā€¦..

This is too charming and so sweetly rendered, I could hug myself after the pretty indulgence. Thank you so very much for sharing!

There is an unexplicable element about this poem that feels like it has been hanging on that tree ripening and it weeps droping metaphoric tears. This water gives life to the poem. The water that is at first murky becomes clearer with time. Sweets for the children. Loved this poem Neville wished I had thought ot it.

A chance encounter interrupted by a man-made firebomb. A journey that culminates in an ending. Your story rings of truth and validity, it is brutal honesty, no sugar coating, based on experience I assume. A stark telling of a true tale. I enjoyed the surprise ending. - Phil A.

Once again you provoke the thoughts of the reader, or maybe I am just dense (totally possible... probable). A holocaust of thoughts that on an individual level is life with a borderline personality that finds no joy in life vacilating in energy filled withj feelings of shame living in a living hell of their own and creating the same for others. Often self abusive the question is whether the last reference to napalm is a metaphor for the personality or a reference to an actual holocaust. Very nice Neville

Hmm, and thus begins the latest new chapter of Last Train from Canton. As steamy and passionate as eager hearts wanted, ah, how excellently rendered with appropriate imagery and such a taunting poignancy, don\'t ask us where we found ourselves after the indulgence. Lovely. Thank you for sharing.
