Looking Beyond Spring

Neville I had to read this over a couple of times to get the sense of progression in this poem. This poem is very subtle. It begins with the falling raindrops hitting hard stone and it emphasizes the feeling of (each splash) painful indeed. The second portion mentions the word hungry for the fledglings that type of hunger when awaiting something as important as an empty stomach or heart. Then the buds with patience awaiting spring and finally the last statement of despite all this not being able to see the awaited. This leaves a rather sad feel and one of disappointment. Did like the pun like introjection of (rain check) This has a somewhat haunting feel to it. Brilliant!

Another thought-provoking poem. Very pensive. A picture of path choice. We wend along making decisions galore and end up where we are. Would we change anything? If we did, would we end up the same? Maybe not.
