Kensho brings wherever it will take. For to see that which is before us requires our past.

Sadness fills the mind when scenes you had to leave behind burst from these winsome lines dear friend. Surely a sad read to read again.

On re-reading this bit of lovely nostalgia I found much more depth to the last stanza - a true love affair does indeed go on and on into infinity -- thank you Nev for a needed reminder..............x

so you too, my friend...
a falsetto serenade
for wannabe scribblers
penned - as ever
so subtly poignant

Oh the mind is a fragile instrument
The here and now is what matters
The past made us, we must not lament
leave the past in its tatters
Let go of the monsters that the eyes invent

what a morose reality
you depict so acutely, you empathetically gifted Poet...
oh how - we belittle
each other\'s self-worth, just
to keep ourselves afloat...
I like to interpret, when Keat\'s wrote
\"Beauty is truth, truth beauty,—that is all
Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.\"
he was referring, to the simple fact
that only \'born-of\' Truth can Beauty ever meaningfully exist
with tangible worth
all else: it\'s but, our glorified
obsession with possession
of all things we deem
aesthetically pleasing, however
momentarily our \'interest\' - lingers
after consumption...

a daringly brilliant write my friend! forgive me if I have imprinted my own blinkered impression as to the meaning behind your words, its just my overzealous nature \'acting-up\', lol

Methinks a Miss as explained here will ever Take as long as hunger for praise is craved. Much food for thought in this needed write Nev.

The ephemeral nature of culturally imposed standards of ‘beauty’ clearly portrayed as the load of shit it is.

Beauty is so mistaken just by looking at people, to see their real beauty you must look deeply into their eyes.

Beauty is only skin deep eh? As a youngster I used to wish I was better looking so that I could enjoy the attention of the really beautiful girls who\'s presence teased my libido. With a few years beneath my belt came the realisation that i was better off not getting involved with their vicious ego\'s.
It must be very painful for them when realisation dawns upon them and all their values along with lovers fade into insignificance as you well describe here.

Aww, I will meet her, and treat her nicely.....not the penultimate stanza. Woof! No, says Fido.
But how will I ever have any nice slap and tickle, with Fido always in tow? He won\'t stay in the doghouse, to give me a break! lol.

I am writing this looking to the future but just realise i started in the past. So how can i catch up with myself. I\'m unsure whether my opening gambit there has a doppler effect built in backwards or it\'s red shift turned blue?

Captains yule log, stardate twenny too, one, twenny one. I am warped and suffering photon torpedo anal discomfature.

Needless to say you thoroughly confused me on a day when i was hoping to watch faeries dance.
