been out in choppy rivers have we?
almost, can be a wonderful word of relief
or a lifetime\'s nightmare of regret,
guess it all, rests
on a flip of luck\'s - temperamental tide
if you will..
another fun shorty, my friend
thank you

No Sweat
L. B. Mek said:

yeah, I\'ve got me a few cultural keepsakes
best described
as Men\'s \'lengthy shirts\' - ahem
from my travels, and I almost
booked a flight to middle east, once
just so I could add
one of their, rather - \'Airy\', ensembles
to my collection..
there\'s no shame, when your home
is turned into a sweat bucket - for days
no Sir, no shame at all, just survival
in all its \'pretty coloured guises\'... ahem! lol
what great fun, dear poet
thank you

I wore my sisters dress as a nine year old for a school project. It was very funny back then, but I don\'t think i could live with the stigma if I were seen doing similar again unless on stage.
Hot, sweaty and sticky though my stage performances became i think it may have been more comfortable in a loose fitting dress.
Cant really picture you in a dress... have you a nice wig and heels?

Accidental Poet said:

Oh the magnet pull towards the coastline. The air, gulls, the spray of crashing waves. I grew up on the coast also. \'Tis why I\'m such a lover of lighthouses. Great write N.

Its Shore Life
L. B. Mek said:

it comes with that glint of grey in our hair
and an extra second of delay, in our sighs
a nudge of awareness, announcing
that burgeoning arrival of perspective
graced by wisdoms, wide lensed scope
for nuanced: thought...
(such a vivid read
imbued with that melancholic romance
of life, by the sea)
another great shorty, my friend!

Why do they get beached? Is it intentional or an accident - would be nice to learn.

dusk arising said:

Such an event for many in parts of this wonderous world means a bounty of good food and wealth. Today in our climes it is a sad occasion beyond our understanding.
High tide to the rescue indeed but all to often the whale remains.
A puzzling poem for me to dance with possibilities.

Upon the Tip of His Tongue
L. B. Mek said:

and how we regret
not realising it, at the time
and not insuring, we treasured
each lingered sip
and each lips, breathed-in scent
of all that she is, and will
remain - regretfully, meaningfully
in our lives
till that very last, blink
of our relenting: grip...
(simply: Brilliant my friend
what a poignant shorty)

From a Safe Distance Only
L. B. Mek said:

\'he would admit ..

Indeed it was those subtle
strokes and gentle prompts
That reminded
him so very much of lovers
long since passed\'..
reads like lyrics to a well written country music song
that comes-on between, 4th and 5th drink messy slurps
and has you swimming in yearned-for, memories
till mercifully, by that lost shot of double Sambuca
you bow - out, cold
hoping, memory wipes are invented: by morning...
Just such a great set of lines, my friend
they hit home - arrowed
as if I inked the words myself...
(what greater quality can we expect
from a cherished poem)
thank you!
