Another imprint you left
Some words untold
Some buried inside
Some knots never opened
Some untended wound
Never knew
Never understood in life
But they hurt the most
The uncalled goodbyes

Indifference walks off and can leave often - methinks good riddance to deliberate and insincere behaviour - -- get wise to those who may never say a simple goodbye - -- dunno why Nev but this for me was a right-rousing read ................x

I don\'t know, dear Poet
if life has taught me anything,
its to treasure
the sharp, permanent goodbyes
seemingly overnight;
where as those murky, elongated separations
with their left-over bruises
that linger
only frustrate, for longer..
(somehow at just the title
I was already irked, by the memory\'s
it made me recall, names
I had imagined forgotten
waiting, in my mind\'s lost box
to prick, those rummaging tendrils
trying, to meaninglessly - recall)
another great shorty, and one
I\'m sure quite a few can relate to

There\'s a lot to be said for a clean and final ending. Often an exchange of iffs buts and maybes is nothing more than a time wasting pre-cursor of the inevitable anyway. Save them for the dream world, it\'s less painful.

Narcissistically Speaking
spilleronsheet said:

It took a long time to acknowledge
It wasn’t me who was wrong but the one in front
Who thought always himself above me
He was a narcissist
And never knew when others around turned victims and lost themselves in self doubt
Beautifully put dear poet

An invisible enigma of sorts, narcissism. I read somewhere that we all have a little narcissist somewhere within us. Very well written work sir. Very impressive.

So skillful your words Nev on the unassailable nature of the true narcissist who distort and are often quite unaware of it - -- I like the honesty too in the final line. A victim maybe of much painful past. history - - still smiling however at your opening clever comparison ........................x

A friend of mine has suffered at the hands of a narcissist for many years, she has at last managed to get him from the house but he still thinks all is ok, he is an absolute swine as all who know him know too darn well.

Neville,

A fine write indeed!
Whether your penned words are referencing a person, place , or thing, I can feel the sadness in your poem.
Sometimes we can be our own worst enemy.

Ah, the secrets of a woman\'s past, who shall know their varying. For jealous tongues will wag in creative wiles in places truth dare not enter.

So you fell for a gal who looked like a temple but farted like an old church bell. \"If ya wanna see me do my thing baby pull my string\"

Ding-dong.

Another piece of mystery from the enthralling hand of a master poet.

Sorry, I can\'t tell who, what, or where \"she\" is, but that doesn\'t mean this isn\'t the most stimulating and enticing bit of poetry I have read in a while. Please don\'t explain your intent here for I wish to mull over this for a while and will save it for future exploration. A dazzling blend of perfectly selected wordings. Instantly entertaining and challenging to the reader. I\'ve read it several times and each time find something new to think about, Just great. - Phil A.
