Tombs to dreams
Bella Shepard said:

This poem touches every nerve. Truer words were never spoken. Each day is ours to make, and cherish, if only we have the wisdom to realize it. A very powerful write my friend, can\'t help but be a fav.

For me, this poem became more powerful with each line. The way you have framed it on the page serves to emphasize the opposites of life that have to be there. Such a great write my friend, and such a fav!

a great write, with an important message!
thank you, kind Poet
(this, that perspective: directive
of mindset
and importance of outlook
defining choices
curating regrets
and anchoring our achievements
if only
all monumental crossroads in life
came with angled mirrors
to widen the scope of our horizons)

And I thought I\'d got hope - despair, glass half full/empty all sorted. You\'ve given my picture more colour, Soren.

A thin line
arqios said:

So thin in fact that one does overlap the other that is dominant. Growing up they told us that everyone has a dash of neuroses, one and all. The human mind is not black or white but actually filled with much grey matter. LOL. Good to be reading this. Thanks Soren. /Rik.

Where is the rhyme?

This is a rhyming junkies dream, and I stand accused. Love it, love it, love it! You have striven and so beautifully given, a piece so sublime it staggers my mind. I have to rave, cause it\'s such a fav!

Interesting soren, I\'ll have to give it some thought.... Nah, too much of a traditionalist to try it myself....but provided you give me warning first....

I\'ve seen a first word rhyme posted and it was quite interesting. This being the second!

You\'ve created something very unique with this rhyming pattern, and it should have a name. I read it aloud, placing emphasis on the first word of each line, and the result was quite intriguing. Will there be more? Hope so.

Mea Culpa
Bella Shepard said:

I love the rhyming pattern and cadence of this piece, it makes me want to read it aloud in one breath. It\'s energy is palpable and truly serves to enhance the emotion of a painful relationship. Well done dear friend!

You address the enigma of love in such a profound way, every line rings so true. I guess you could point to the biological element, and say that it\'s neurons firing and hormones releasing. But can you really measure it in a laboratory? You have described what is incomprehensible so beautifully, and it is such a fav.

Good for you, Soren. Most telling was your comment above ‘what we call love …. may be something else.’ And it certainly is not mostly what we find hanging about here.
I have my own view of ‘love’ here at MPS:

(your words spoke to me dear Poet
and I couldn\'t help scribbling a little poetic reply of my own, thank you!)
I truly believe that which is ethereal
can never be lost, merely surrendered or forgotten
thus, we may traverse in and out of love
but that\'s merely a state or passage
in time
once we choose to love
that love, however bitter its yield
is a love that stays by our side
see, people may come n go
but the love we cultivate while at each other\'s side
goes nowhere, it lingers
in each remembered smile or tear...
love prevails!
that\'s why it\'s worth investing in
