Chance Meeting
Dolphine29 said:
I like it. Makes me wonder… if this is something that happens all the time... we miss chances, the actual to meet someone significant in your life, maybe for fate or just a mistake, is still a play on destiny or just a light hope to let it be. ... You got me thinking.

Ah, delightfully romantic! She is lucky, precious girl. How very sweet a tribute to romance, from the romance of nature's beautiful Au Revoir to that tender feeling between a man and woman. Wonderful and lovely. Excellent imagery. The fire of love brightens the darkness so deliciously.

Giving Up
Cheeky Missy said:
If you were inclined you might classify it as reflection or else sad. A defeated, mournful cry, it yet grasps, gasping for life and fresh air as it finishes. Thought-provoking and rather poignant. A far cry from a year ago today?

For A Polish Girl in Hyde Park
Cheeky Missy said:
Poignant and bittersweet, with wonderful imagery painting that seeming moment of ecstasy which had to inevitably be relinquished. I love the images, half intrigued by the tale, for something so much deeper seems lurking, just evading my comprehension. Excellent....I like it.

Ah, long time no see! I like that "be real" admonition. This has a serious message almost subtly woven into its little scene and argument, nigh intriguing and fascinating. Desire for what might not be the best because it has been long adored. Satisfaction with lesser because beloved. Mayhap I've missed the message? Interesting and thought-provoking. I like it.
Nice to see you here again. Seems a sorry replica of what it was a year ago, a ghostly playground whose former playmates have scattered to greener pastures...or? Me too...sort of...and sort of not.

Thoughts on a Girls Self Portrait
Cheeky Missy said:
The portrait is an image momentarily(?) indelibly etched in your mind's eye, having caught and retained your fancy, titillating your imagination for a time.....like so many things unwittingly do. And so many moments in living are thus without a camera etched forever in our mind's eye and gallery, which cameras, paper and ink/paint may never capture. In this instance, however, the artist did succeed at creating a vivid, though vain, image in the admiring viewer. Your tribute to it is excellent, especially combined with your explanatory "author's comment." I liked it very well.

Excellently written....are you genuinely expressing your beliefs? While churches have long been preaching false gospels, devilishly enslaving people, that is according to God's Word by His prophets.....why did you go so far as to eliminate God?

Very contrary to common belief. I like it. :) I happen to share the same views as expressed in this poem. I love the last line - "Freedom is condemnation". :)

My Own Reflection
Cheeky Missy said:
Fascinating...alluring. But as once hopeful "WE"....the reflection of the other...the other's equally passionate fire of love, we so desired to meet in each other's eyes. And if it IS love, then it cannot end as this poem thus envisions, with a destruction of the fondest hopes and dearest loves by time...can it? Love will forgive and pass over the necessary imperfections, thus growing deeper and stronger over time...the image more clearly than ever, etched and moulded in each other....wouldn't it? I much enjoyed reading this, and was only disappointed in the sorry thought that meeting your own reflection in her eyes would be the destruction of the love you now had. I figure from the Sartre quote you were making a poem of that thought; yet love, if it is true would not do so, would it? Beautiful and bittersweet.....again, I enjoyed it.

Saint-Malo - A Tribute
Cheeky Missy said:
Wow....and thank you so very much for taking the reader there in this delightful depiction/description of St.Malo!!! They say a picture is worth a thousand words and this verbal image is almost truly alive with the sights, colours, scents, and sounds. I quite enjoyed it!!! Thanks so much for it...I've never before heard or known of it.

Excellent! Yet again, via the haiku you've succinctly snapshotted....a carousel! Beautifully done! I love it for how well you've done it, and seeing it by this description, can almost hear and smell the fair even now.....

Awww I love this. :) I mostly write more depressing poems, because I seem to know more about that, so I love to read happier poetry. It makes me smile, and this was really nice. :)

Ah, too sweet....such a welcome picture you've so delightfully drawn in this beautiful piece! Tenderly capturing their delicate allure, for which our winter-bound selves (mine, anyway) long. This almost wafts the fragrance for which we pine, in the scene you've painted now. Excellent! I love it!

Beautiful. You succinctly captured the delight of the new day's trilling. I love how you did it....the haiku is perfect for expressing it shortly and sweetly. Excellent! I quite enjoy that pleasure your poem has paid tribute to, and this was a sweet reminder....I loved it!

Too bad I am totally unfamiliar with the novel inspiring this beautifully romantic poem, for I'm guessing you probably captured it perfectly in, as they say, "a nutshell." It is delightful for the image it evokes. I enjoyed it.
