Loved these lines that though simple seemed so much to belong to each other like pieces of a puzzle and one piece of logic that follows another. Very nice Teddy.

Ah dreams
Talking ravens and distant memories
So much to enjoy
Yet
All I wonder is the colour of your finest shoes
We see you as you really are Teddy
A much loved friend to all here
Keep smiling
It\'s infectious

A passionate write dear Teddy. Rich with description and metaphor. I haven’t visited Florence but I have been invited. We have friends living there, so it is on my bucket list. Such an inspiring write and your posted image of Florence, so appealing. Wonderful read. Have a happy weekend.

A beautiful tribute to not only a city but in metaphor a person.. This write filled with near rhymes, irregular stanzas that fit so well still carrying the flow and meter are a triumph in and of themselves, but more than this is the poetic form of the piece itself that has a feel so enchanting and well written that it takes me to the location itself. Charming and very professionally written.

A new word for me Teddy. Such fun to invent your own vocabulary. As for remembering dreams, I rarely do these days. I am an insomniac, so your posted image is very appealing to me. Have a lovely day poet.

Wot you mean is you made \'slumberbash\' up! Google don\'t record it in memory either....Tomorrow I\'m going to attempt to have your poetic licence revoked... so there!
Apart from that, M\'lady, I can relate to the meaning embodied in the entirety and, as usual admire your choice of visuals.

How did I miss gem? There is just enough mystery and puzzle in these lines to grip the attention of the reader and bury him in that soil beneath the roses. This is one of my favorites of yours

I confess I know little of this form of poetry, but the words Dear Teddy, are exquisite. If this be the food of love, then write on , and on, and on. Once again you introduce to something I want to learn more about. Thank you!!

To praise ones essence in the hard labor of a sonnet, is so brave and lovely. Job well done! I hope to take a walk somewhere in the old world and sit and attempt one soon.

Dear Teddy, now this is a sonnet to top all sonnets. I know how difficult they are to compose because I have dabbled myself. You have given your readers a love poem here of incredible depth and beauty. I can’t praise it enough. 🌹

Cloie said:
Your poem beautifully expresses a deep and passionate love, comparing it to the intensity of the sun and the beauty of nature. The imagery of fiery eyes and golden locks evokes a sense of awe and admiration. The poem also touches on the theme of forgiveness and the importance of cherishing each day. The final lines convey a sense of eternal love and devotion, promising to continue loving even in the face of darkness.
