Doom\'s Omen
L. B. Mek said:

\'but hunts now in crumbling walls
where once stood candelabra-lit halls\'
how we aspire to perfect that mansion
knowing, inevitably it will eventually
become just another decrepit ruin
of once immovable ambition
Time-wilted into yet another
Nature reclaimed hunting grounds
for those winged masters
to once more, reign supreme!
(how I missed your Genius, dear Fay
thank you!)

You\'ve caught in poetic form the image I have of owls buried in my mind, Fay.

I will go and beat an egg, as Neville suggests, as I can\'t beat fine poems such as these!

This speaks eloquently to a member of a rather large brood of eight, it was the worst of times and the best of times as well. Happy to walk on a sentimental journey of a brick road that at one time was kinda yellow. Thanks Fay!

Made me think of Dickensian Dodger. And then the clarifying stanza by stanza image of spiderwebs bring the interpretative allusion full circle. Some terrifying things are of such a beauty to behold that it inspires respect and beautiful poetry. Thanks Fay!

Strange how most of us would admit therese creatures make our skin crawl yet their web creations we admire as things of treasure. Beauty and the beast made real.

Two \'likes\' have appeared at end of your poem!
A blip on my PC maybe - or that ego trip of mine, of \'liking\' my own poems? Do I?! lol.

Carpe diem! Well expressed. I too believe that there only is the present and one should live in it. Well done.

I love this Fay, thanks for your unending wisdom and sagacity. This feels like a warm embrace with the present. I feel like oftentimes we tend to dread the future, especially the mysterious afterlife, but I think living in the \"now\" brings so much more peace. Glorious poem!

A little gem, Fay. And as a solid reinforcement for my attempted focus on the here and now, it is strong enough to need no additional supplement...... for now!

\'Now\' I say it\'s a good write. Erm, not this moment \'now\'. The moment 5 seconds ago when I first typed \'now\'.
And now I\'m a confused laddie! lol.

Yes, love can be silent, and most of the time probably is. Sometimes words just get in the way of a cheery wave.

I started to comment, but me comment shall be voiceless! Notice the silence there in brackets. I talk some rubbish sometimes! lol.
True though. Sometimes we feel we HAVE TO or MUST say something. It can sort of interfere with, or disrupt the silence at times.
