A bit of a different angle from me on this.
The words came to mind \'Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense\'. It appears the English version of this is: \'Evil be to him/her who evil thinks\'.
Yet I read a snippet in a book of \'the beauty of war\'. It jarred with me, I couldn\'t agree with it.
Bit of French there too (heehee)..

You raise an interesting question that many may think they know the answer to .. But who can put their hand on their heart and say this, this or this would have been the outcome had things been any different back in the day ............. A timely but most unexpected post today seriously enjoyed and demonstrating your unquestionable poetic versatility our lady Fay ...................... x

England declares war on Germany. How different could it have been had we not been so hasty. Would he have continued east to russia, ignoring blighty and we could have peace till the USA came onboard and we declare war together. How many brit lives would have been saved? Cos declaring war in sept 39 cost us heavy in lives lost both abroad and at home before USA joined in. Our biggest defeat Dunkirk.
At home was a \'phoney war\' we really put our foot in it for blighty sending troops into France. Are we popular in France?
Where next? Recent history shouts it\'s question.... Maggie and Blair constructed and conspired jingoistically for their false popularity to ensure re-election but with blood on their hands.
Very provokative writing from you today Fay.... a good one.

Doom , doom. We are not far off the same position today Fay, IMHO.
What will avert? We each can only do what we can peacefully do.... In this case it is your poem - Thanks.
Tell Governments how wrong they are?

I think I understand a little better romantic poetry now - the embroidery which enhances the ordinary - and believe me, to convince a hard head, that\'s some achievement, Fay.
Cannot pass on without mentioning the physical structure here - worth a frame.....

L. B. Mek said:
\'It tosses relentless as with bounty it plays
and douses growth\'s hold by raining days\'..
I just love the moody, crunching cadence of early autumnal atmosphere
that quietude lull, as summer\'s vibrancy dials down and our sky\'s start to get a little dusky
but still, we\'re gifted with sublime sunshine moments in-between the life nourishing droplets of nature\'s abundance,
such a unique season and how quickly it comes and goes, sandwiched between lethargic Summer and far too eager, Winter...
(a great read, dear Fay
thank you, for sharing it again)

Heralded by amber leaf-fall the shudder of winters proximity taints these late sunshiney warm days.
The sadness of losr summer runs between your lines as well you depict this seasonal demise. Bills pecking at your windowsill brings reassurance of homely warmth and continuance.
