A fine write G/F. Off we go to do some singing again... I can\'t see any idiots in this pic! The guy with the beard on your left looks like an ex-Manager of mine. Might be him - he sings too!
It\'s true, you look like a rather distinguished church member I know. He and his wife have moved away now, but he was involved in the courts, justice, etc.

We are so different now from then, and the song sounds different too.

Thanks ANDY ~ Billie Holliday ~ An amazing voice that cuts through the mind and goes straight to te heart ~ very moving ! Recorded over 70 years ago (i944) and yet still retains its Power to make GROWN MEN CRY. I give talks (mainly to over 60\'s clubs) on Jim Reeves ~ Nat king Cole ~ Dean Martin etc and often by the end of the evening every one is crying ! Music always has the Power to Move ~ BRIAN

Yes, music has the power to speak our hearts for us, to connect with our soul, like nothing else. What a gift!

Goldfinch, you nailed it. We look, but we don\'t see. We hear, but we don\'t listen. We touch, but we don\'t feel. Unless the heart is involved, it is for naught.

I\'ve had this happen to me as well. And it was one of Billie Holiday\'s songs too. It was also in the movie \"Forever Young\" with Mel Gibson. Can\'t remember the name of the song now. Great write Goldfinch. ; )

Needless to say that i\'m familiar with Billie Hilliday\'s work. I read your piece and listened thinking about your words. i Can only imagine how it made you feel, but for me it was quite moving. Thank you for sharing this.

As we said in another stream - how many of us look at art generally - great write, great singer, great song - I\'ll listen to it again later.

A fine and sensitive write Gold. Sometimes things can affect us more than at other times. I mean, you would be more sensitive at the times I add water to your whisky, than when I \'m not around! heehee.

What a write! Glad I found time to read it; thoroughly enjoyed yours. A refreshing perspective on time. And the coincidence did not escape me. Only yesterday I uploaded my own poem on time with a different take \"Friendly Tyrant\". You may wish to compare notes.
