A fine write Gold. I tend more towards \'Grant us Lord... wisdom to know the difference between what we can and cannot change\' or something like that is how it goes.
But us two know everything. All about 1066, the dinosaurs, etc, cos we were there. We carved it on trees ages ago: \'We Woz Ere\'.!

I just finished participating in a local theater production of Thornton Wilder\'s play, \"Our Town\", which speaks so beautifully and powerfully to this theme ... the importance of the \'small things\' in life. A well done poetic reminder of this, Goldie!

Gold, yes, you\'re gold... Thanks for sharing the \"opportunity\" to read your poem. Thoughtful and true. Opportunities abound, but many times we miss the boat. Thanks, great write.

Yes, we are blind most of the time because we have our mind scattered everywhere. We end up missing an entire life because of no concentration or attention. Very nice writing.

Like seeing one oak tree... yet ignoring the rest of the forest... Blind to what he/she doesn\'t know. Valid point.

Goldfinch, you touched on something very elementary here, something we are all guilty of. Finding and taking advantage of these smaller opportunities could have changed many lives for the better.
Great poem! Got me thinking!

Is this the lady who gave you first the confidence to write and then the insight you possess perhaps the angel who you slowly became aware of watching over you and your life, radiating love and reassurance - the basis of your faith?

I loved to read this. Went to my faves. Love the picture too. I wish we have a poetry day here in US or in Brazil. I only have one friend poet apart from this site. She only writes in Portuguese but she writes nice. We share some things sometimes.

You wrote a wonderful tribute to your dad, Goldfinch! My dad was a musician (not professional, but probably could have been) and whenever he sat down at a piano, people stopped talking. Your poem brought back a lot of memories for me! Thank you!

A beautiful tribute to your father Goldie. I knew there was a fantastic write of your feelings for your dad. Thank you for mentioning me, but the real credit is to your dad. I\'ve no wish to rush your joining him, but I know when you do, a glorious day it will be. Love the video music and awesome write. ; )
