A.k.a. Hugh, Michael - Mr. Man. And who is Miss Take? What is her first name? And why I am I talking rubbish? No change there then!

Ah masterful! So many tell of what we ought to be, how to be better human beings. How can we be better at what we are, we\'re only human.
Really liked this piece.

The Remains of the Day.

In GOD\'s sight ~ My Life
And Your Life is but a Day
SO ~ Boast not thyself of tomorrow
Cos that belongs to someone else !

I have only had EIGHT hours
of my 24 so far ~ so 16 hours
Remain(s) of My Day !

I love the concept in this elegant ode ~ it reminded me of the transience of life and the need to CARPE DIEM ~ which is echoed in several recent Poems. Theresa May grasped the DAY today and all of us REMAINERS should back her on this ~ PRAY FOR HER and write to our MP encouraging them to back her !
Loved the Moonlight the most played on CLASSIC FM ! It is deceptively easy and very haunting ~ It is the only piece of CLASSIC MUSIC that I ever mastered and I still play it on available PIANOS in Airports and other Public Places ! For some people it is the only classic they have heard ! Your contributions always \"stimulate\" us ~ keep caring & sharing ~ BRIAN

Andy,
The best seven minutes of my morning!🎼

A wonderful write with a great question!

What will happen “With the remains of the day”?
The answer for me is...
I will learn more and “carry on”!

Have a beautiful day!

Andy,
I saw your posting a few hours ago! As Fine B said, I had never heard of Kathleen Ferrier! I couldn’t listen to the clip right away (no iPhone service for a while...I’m in flight to NYC). I finally was able to listen to the clip! What a voice!!!
I googled to learn a bit about her! The first thing that really saddened me is that she died at such a young age!
What an amazing talent...pianist & vocalist!

As I was reading your magnificent poem, I imagined you with Joyce by your side listening to that amazing music, literally brought tears to my eyes!
Thank you for the share!
Every day I’m learning something new thanks to some super poets on this wonderful site!

My soul must have gone ages ago. Well, since that fateful moment in 1066, when I mucked everything up! Just why did I turn up then?!

Hi Goldfinch60,

I have never heard of Kathleen Ferrer, but what a lovely, enchanting poem and incredible tribute to your favourite singer.

Thank you - well now I am aware of Kathleen Ferrer and will hear a track of hers sometime.

Keep writing

A fine write and clip Gold if only I wasn\'t in such a rush, dashing about on my steed in 1066. I may have taken time to think what to say to Harold, instead of \'Look up, Sire\'.
