Ode to Music.

Goldie, I am sorry, but you made a big mistake here.
The youtube clip is so incredibly beautiful, Anna is so gorgeous, her voice so incredible, that I had hardly any strength left to properly read and evaluate your poem. I want to go to infinity with Anna!!!!

A fine wrote Gold. But I wish they would fix the organs in some churches. It ruins the hymns. Costs too much to repair I suppose, and a lot of Victorian churches, so the organs are ageing too.
I heard one recently, repaired they said. still sounded a bit off.

However true your words are Goldfinch, I still try to have fun! Not the type we had as children (which was far more fun), but as adults, the fun just isn\'t the same no matter how you try. Beautiful write Goldfinch!!!

True Goldie, we do sometimes forget to have fun in life. The days of our youth were a glorious time, and with maturity comes more and more responsibility. Sadly, some people think that having fun is being irresponsible. A great write Goldie, now go out and have some fun. ; )

To Fun or Not To Fun
BRIAN & ANGELA said:

GOOD MORNING ANDY ~ To those of us still in our THIRTIES your closing Doublet is salutary indeed. I still find an element of fun in everything but I do notice that my Colleagues who are old (40+) have become a little more dour and some have even ceased to send a riposte to the \"oft circulated\" daily email funnies ! C\'est la vie ~ BRIAN.

Luckily with my odd sense of humour I see fun in most things (often very non PC) which can be a tad embarrassing at times - especially since I\'m a born giggler which doesn\'t always go down well at my age !! But do I care? Do I heck!! Great write Andy.

ah, growing into the elderly. we all fall prey to the unpleasantness which age supplies endings in human demise. the age just before time arrives where we sit back and enjoy reflecting back on the things we did and achieved then the inevitable happens. I love this poem because it brings so much thought for when we need the care and support from our loved ones to make things as comfortable as we can.

Goldfinch, I had to make this a favorite!
In these few lines you touch on one of life\'s most important principles.
Change does not come from outside. Change comes from within.

A good message. Wisdom is the ability to recognise some things we can\'t change and others we can - and to recognise the ability to change those that we can .

A fine write Gold. I tend more towards \'Grant us Lord... wisdom to know the difference between what we can and cannot change\' or something like that is how it goes.
But us two know everything. All about 1066, the dinosaurs, etc, cos we were there. We carved it on trees ages ago: \'We Woz Ere\'.!

Louis Gibbs said:

I just finished participating in a local theater production of Thornton Wilder\'s play, \"Our Town\", which speaks so beautifully and powerfully to this theme ... the importance of the \'small things\' in life. A well done poetic reminder of this, Goldie!

Yes, we are blind most of the time because we have our mind scattered everywhere. We end up missing an entire life because of no concentration or attention. Very nice writing.

Goldfinch, you touched on something very elementary here, something we are all guilty of. Finding and taking advantage of these smaller opportunities could have changed many lives for the better.
Great poem! Got me thinking!
