A separation poem? Hope it\'s not forever or it is for mutual happiness and necessity then it\'s not so sad. The poem does express in sighs and soulful tinge. Kudos for the poetry.
Nice to read from u again,
Pleez do review/comment my newest poem too . Best wishes,

Aren\'t you kind - thanks L..... if you watch the video on Youtube there are comments and one is about more verses that JT left out and it\'s actually a much sadder song than we think it is..... she jilts him. I\'m having more trees cut down today - getting rid of potential weapons of mass destruction..... happy buzz saws going .... sounds like a swarm of bees .... would almost believe it is summer if I didn\'t step outside to 27 F......... hope you had wonderful holidays ....

Good morning, Lorna!
Glad to “see” you!
“Separations” are difficult and sad to bear...especially from a loved one!
You’ve superbly penned words that touch my heart along with James Taylor’s rendition of “The Water Is Wide”!
The following words from a different version of “The Water Is Wide” are for you...
“As I look out
across the sea
a Bright horizon beckons me
And I am called to do my best
and be the most
that I can be.”
With much love...

The flow and appeal of this poignant verse stays long after the read - - - you have captured the essence of parting and its sad effect on each partner - - excellent work Lorna - and into my faves with this little gem.

Strangely, after the first day of Winter (taking it as Dec 21st), things get lighter a minute or two each day.
Let\'s not only say \'The nights are drawing in\' but also say \'It will gradually start getting lighter again soon\'.
How is it in the US. Our \'shortest days\' are 8am to 4pm daylight. I would hate it if it was not light until 9am.

That\'s done it....... now I\'ll HAVE to make scones all carby and evil. To celebrate the first day of winter I\'m going to make a bread pudding - we line the baking mold with sugar cooked until it glazes the mold and then when the pudding is turned out, the melted glazed sugar (not too much) oozes into the pudding (with raisins of course) and you want to die while eating it and then you feel that you have after eating it .......

Great metaphors to express
“The prairie of the life that was”!
We must do our best

A super write with an awesome song that brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it! A personal favorite of mine!
