Your beautiful poem paints a very loving and tender picture and does say a lot between the lines. Well done!

Thank you Laura! This picture is just one I found to represent a real person.... she could do anything! Someone who had grown up in the Depression years. Glad it reminded you of your grandmother - their lives were probably harder but I still think better in many ways... that might just be romantic fancy though.

Lorna,
What a woman! A sweet
write...and I love pickles!
Beautiful pic. She looks like
my great grandmother who
lived on a farm and taught
my mom to can fresh
tomatoes! This tradition
is still going on in our
family! Thank you for
sharing!

A well-written tribute to the men who were real in every sense Lorna - - they certainly meant what they said and did - - though you were only nineteen methinks that woudl have been a kiss to remember. Great read.

I will flat out say it. I always loved jets. They are awesome. Although probably the most underrated branch of the military in every country, when caught in the moment, nothing looks cooler or sounds cooler than an F-jet doing it\'s job.
Great poem.
