Very strong write Jo, yes children must be free but a caring parent will guide them gently into a good way of living.

Never smile again
smallest_stars said:

Just a beautiful way to describe pain from love and I love this line:

“Broken vase against fragile walls”

It’s one of those lines that I kick myself for not thinking of to write!

Good poem!

Never smile again
Fay Slimm. said:

The sadness of break-up is in every line and really touches the heart with each well-chosen repetition. One to belong in my faves. Joe.

Ah - a plain truth enfolded in this sensitive message dear Joe - - drams belong to the home and cannot be in any way called battles which on the killing field can devastate body, mind and soul. Well said indeed..

This cuts to the chase about what war really is........... I have read so many first hand books by soldiers of WWII and Vietnam....... my admiration for what the poor young soldiers have to cope with and my disdain for the politicians that push them into it is enormous...... good one....

Cut throat
Jamie said:

\"I\'m more blood than skin
\"Every surface area is a sin\"
I also find this profoundly expressive, suggesting you have scarred yourself extensively which is a sort of self inflicted penance for not being worthy only to feel even less worthy for having committed such a crime against yourself, and all because of having forgotten that the pain that started it all wasn\'t even your sin, but a sin against you; and not knowing that even the ugliest violations could never diminish the value of your precious beauty!

Cut throat
Jamie said:

But the saddest part, therefore the best, because it\'s a sad poem, not because sadness is best...
\"I\'m nobody\'s princess
Have no one to hold me up\"
I found it instantly and infinitely lonely.

This reminds me of a guy I really liked, when I was younger .
Unfortunately, he liked the “ perfect model” type .
Which I never was.
I used to sometimes wish I could be like her.
Then he would like me.
Nice write:)

A fine write Jo. We\'re all \'snowflakes\' now it seems - genteel, over-sensitive, etc.
Oh, it can\'t be Spring until 21st March - so says me diary! lol.

\'\' if the good i need is dead to me\'\' this says a lot jo , its like you are feeling like nothing is meant to get better/ that or you are not allowed anything good. such an expresseive write . it speaks to me of a girl , who even when she writes poetry .. she feels nothing but emptiness?

It’s one of the most pain filled poems I’ve ever read.

You made me feel all of the words in your poem, even though, I can’t personally relate.
THATS TALENT !!
Thank you for sharing

The cup
Caring dove said:

oh , interesting , i love your mention of your friend as a beautiful cup and the ending line , it sounds like your friend is maybe feeling trapped \'\'\' the cu

the cups longing longing to be free, for some reason the cup tells me .... it wants to be me \'\' really good ending .

she is your best friend and yet she cannot smile and wave at you .... like a cup who is unable to communicate back, you admire he but she cannot speak,

nicely done jo :-)

hi Jo, wow, another brilliant piece of writing :-) it sounds to me , like you feel exposed , self conscious , scared .... the hare in the car lights.. frozen to the spot, fearful , scared , threatened , on edge. sounds like you are not fully taking in the walk because of the state of your mind . i love your poems!
