Just Another Shot in The Dark

it breaks our capacity to trust
those we may deem, as safe in the future
and poisons our connections with people irreversibly...
and perpetrators barely get years as sentence for such crimes
while survivors spend a lifetime dealing with it

(and we say \'stay safe, be aware\'
but of who, strangers?
when its the people around us
that usually plot or opportunistically
act out such despicable acts)
this is why I can never do your profession
the empath in me will end-up a vigilante mass murderer

Just Another Shot in The Dark
