No Curtain Call
L. B. Mek said:

If we had no shadows in our Past
we couldn\'t be hopeful
of finding something better, brighter
in our dreamed tomorrow\'s...
(really liked the concept of merging
two versions of self, the now
and the regretted past, but maybe
some direct dialogue
between the two poetic voices
would add more depth;
such an intriguing read, thank you!
and those first few lines flowed effortlessly)
\'The character I became in a play I didn\'t write
has made his final curtain call
However no accolades shall be given
no rave reviews or awards
Instead I\'ll sweep the stage clean
before making a hasty exit, stage left\'

such a wonderful dedication
(if we\'re thinking about them, with Love
then, we can be reassured in the fact
that at least - They: are being Loved...)
or at least that\'s how I, selfishly
choose to interpret
this treasured - thorn adorned, anchor
I carry with me
to and from my dreams, dear poet

Crikka, Crikey I know how he feels – if society don’t give yer a fair go and enuf to eat, ‘cos yer old, then wots a poor fella to do? Got to abandon yer vegetarianism an find some young tender kiddies to keep me belly full an the wolf from the door – yer don’t wanna meet that wolf……unless he’s got a poem in him, Sax ?

When you see yourself in another\'s art, you truly make a connection with that person. That\'s what happened here with me. Nicely penned.

Dear Saxon Crow, your poem really touched my soul. And the much liked lines are:
\"And nothing can stop us now our path has been made
Strong in our hearts that were made to be sharedard\"

thank you for sharing it

Good advice, interesting write there Sax. Only caveat I have is this:
Poetry comes in all shapes and sizes. Some (many) are word pictures about nature and so on, misery or….love…..for example. Most noncontroversial.
Some can be ‘sociopolitical’ as MPS calls it. Those are not there for acceptance of difference they are presented for debate and clarification.
This is not to subvert the meaning of your piece , which I think is very valid….just saying….
