Elegy to the memory of Anthony Bourdain

I have no reservation whatsoever in emphasizing here and now, just how sadly and much, I liked and enjoyed this poem ..

Like you, I met him briefly, but in London where we were both dining (my son himself was a chef there) ..
There are many great chefs and many great personalities, but few deserve the pedestal that I would place this particular gentleman on .. and indeed, for many reasons ..

Wow! Great write. Love by \"potion\" or otherwise, leads to sacrifice and devotion. Such is life. Wisdom of experience laced with morality and understanding. Wise words indeed. - Phil A.

this reminds me of my feelings when I heard Robin Williams
had passed away
thank you! dear Poet
for this ever-Timely
and most necessary poem
\'Listen to the music when it fades.

You must let go of the summers.\'
that\'s why we have seasons
I think
to teach us change\'s
lessons of inevitability
and that for every Winter
a promise of Spring, awaits
we must never lose sight
of existence\'s small mercies

A sharp comment - delete it if it\'s too much. Wikipedia says he was a drug-crazed so-and-so.

wonderfully creative
\'batch no.19\'
what matters most, is that we find
hope/strength, stubbornness enough
to keep experimenting and hoping
\'We’ll forget the cuts
and claim preemption \'
not settling
for those shallow solutions
of love potion mirages...
(just a great read, dear Poet
your insightful poetry
as eloquently refined, as-ever)
thank you!
(widening our word spacing
like we widen our fishing nets
of hope,
a showcasing of wordless imagery)

Young love\'s niavete lasts briefly, but is never forgotten. The first palpatations of the heart awaken in us to emotions thrilling, confusing, perhaps a little frightening, but exhilerating. Such a good write dear poet!

Your thoughtful insights are extremely impressive-your level of understanding about the “unsettled system” . “pay/reward from the pain caused” is such a difficult phenomenon to accept for the grieving parents/community of the young lost, too soon, by suicide or accident.

Thank you dear poet besides your pensive look at the chorus, there is actually a Ocean Cliff which looks like two humans embracing near where I live. Thank you for appreciating the romantic elements, as I permitted myself this luxury to write about intimate feelings.

We play roles

Those announcements declare a closeness rarely achieved not that there isn’t freedom it’s that we restrict it and it’s really hard to define why this situation this freedom lives but not that? Our own sense of freedom when it surrounds is a welcome beast though the strife lurks.

Severance for all pain they felt and caused
This line set me to ponder
Pay/Reward for pain caused as if dutiful? Or inevitable to the degree of a necessary ingredient and thus be part of the “bills”
But it was unpaid severance - purposely skipped ? Consciously the avoidance indicates an unsettled system. I admit I don’t know but the compelling write thrust upon me the conundrum. Freaking successful piece thereby!!!

This beautiful poem is so unique in its concept. The joy of a newborn, then reflection, 23 years later, of how that incredible life that has affected yours. As a mom I can relate to this whole heartedly. I\'m late to the reading, but thank you for sharing this wonderful verse of mother love.
