Young deaths always draw more attention due to the potential loss and the basic feeling of needing to protect the helpless. It is so sad when unknown potential is snuffed out too soon. The metaphor here fits so well and the imagery is great.

The imagery is stunning
Especially liked \"smiling fish\"
Only complaint I have is we don\'t see enough writing from you
That being said
They are always worth the wait
Superb

the shining winter is where my heart fluttered
it flew and the streams were full
of smiling fish

I sense a change in a relationship here. What was once bright even in the coldest season has lost some heat and light. Beautiful poetic expression Parisiab. A fabulous piece of poetry.

Star of Bethlehem Under Rubble
Garth Rakumakoe said:

This mysteriously takes me to the Middle East affair for some reason, and it even semi-references a book I read on Israel and the star of David. There\'s so much in it about losing one\'s way, and perhaps even a fall from grace... \"My hands were sorting the stars in the sky this night\" is such a great line, and very relatable... \"And I fear that you may even have lost your way back to your star\" underpins a lot about an unforgettable history and legion that cannot be forgotten nor ignored, but is sadly lost, along with its innocence.

This is where this piece kept me abducted, vividly so. Unmatched story telling, dear P.

Means a lot coming from a poet at heart! It turns out that we are colleagues as psychologists, after all:)

Poignantly melancholic and sad. As a retired psychologist I have heard this story before and lived it as well so it has familiar notes and its music is as dark as a winter day.
\"Now there is pitch dark in winter and we squeeze each others’ hands like the succulents scorching for their monthly thirst\"
A very powerful line. Brilliant

Garth Rakumakoe said:

I love how it ends so openly, and continuously as though that end never ends... The duality in it is also quite attractive in its sensitivity, the dandelions and hearts are almost each in their own bubbles, until one is not, upon contact with the other... This piece speaks to the literary skies...

You weave a mighty pen... May blessings abound your works!

This is the stuff timeless books are written of... It\'s such a \"touch, smell and feel\" kind of poem, loaded with fondness and nostalgia, you know. The person written of in the piece, the scenery, the closeness of memory... shall simply never die...

Be very proud of these words, gifted one. They are a portrait in time.

I love this. I think you can hurt the reader even more viciously on a spiritual level with a sequel or revision.

Hope that isn\'t presumptuous, but I love this poem! Well done!
