Very, very well done PD!
I don\'t know if I had the courage to stand up in front of a crowd and read my poems. So, hat\'s off to you!

A very good write, PD. We ARE experiencing ourselves through the people around us. Sometimes in a good way, sometimes in a not so good way. Then, instead of getting mad or upset, we do have to take a good look at ourselves to find the truth. I do believe that if we love somebody we give up part of ourselves and together with the other person become a new whole.
You went pretty deep here!

A sad read, probably difficult to write. The childhood stuff was not your fault. Glad you are healing through this process. Good luck to you and your healing heart!

A sad read which must have been painful to write Dan -- questions asked that have no one answer as troubles come by the score to some - yet the piece shows so clearly the results of childhood abuse. Thanks my friend for sharing such hurtful memories.

Reading your great poem, PD, I vibrated right along with you! And I do think you could expand the \'Dan syndrome\' to a \'Writers syndrome\'

My rhythm just went up a notch after reading this, PD!
And with my voice, I go hide now and sing a song!
Love your poem!

After reading the quote I was ready for some deep thoughts challenging my mind. Then, by the third line of the poem I realized you were talking about a dog, and getting to the \'mostly fun\' line, was smiling too.
But then, I also realized that you are talking about much more here than \'just a dog\'. The \'history of our connection\', \'fear of expressing\', \'walking together\', and \'compassion and balance\', apply to any relationship, be it animal or human, as does the last line. So, challenge my mind it did!!!
Great, great poem, PD!

Great imagination, PD! Great lines, like \'Atoms become entwined in the mist\' and \'As I rise within my own being to walk your deck\'. And the picture goes well with the poem. Kudos!

A fine write and pic Dan. I wouldn\'t meet any dog at one stage, chihuahua to great dane size, and all in between! Best to always ask the owners first, isn\'t it, if we can stroke their dogs?

I love your message in your poem. You can achieve anything you put your mind to. Are those all your dogs? BTW, is there a puff of smoke coming from the man walking by? lol Could just be me. Nice poem!
