PD, I get it, except for the lobster lesson. Got me stumped there! Is this an \'English\' thing? You know we \'Americans\' are sometimes a bit clueless!

Know your force
FredPeyer said:

This one definitely does not only make sense in your head, it makes sense, period!
How many times did we use excessive force when just a little bit would have been enough. And I am not only talking physical here, the same goes for our head.
Great poem, PD!
Now you make me work, trying to rethink that awesome force inside me! :-)

An apt piece of imagery brings the right feel to this verse on using our inner force for reshaping our challenges - - good advice Dan

Living is truth

Good to see you will not led the digital noise stop you from seeing things as they are, especially in a world where truth from fake can be so blurred.

While I agree with your message, PD, I think we should also consider information overload (tmi). By being bombarded with too many messages, one might not get to the truth anymore!

Goldfinch60 said:

Good write. I do agree with Fred though, in my mind I am still thirty five but when I try to use this sixty nine year old body to try and do things the mind just laughs at me.

We conceive, believe, then create. Your fine poem says it more eloquently, Dan. Well done!

FredPeyer said:

Good advice, PD. The mind and belief come first, then everything else follows.
There is sometimes a problem though when you get older, when the mind says \'I can do that\' and the body answers \'Are you kidding?\'

Way to go Dan. Congratulations. I give you much credit my friend. I went to one of these poetry nights and I did not have the courage to get up in front of everyone and recite my poetry. Good for you. You da man. Great write here too. ; )

Hey, I started a fusion poem and I\'d like your input. You can find it on my front profile page under my list of poems. ; )

I\'m pretty sure the thank you should be going the other way around, after all you\'re the one who writes these poems! And the open mic part was awesome, good on you!

I\'m thinking
FredPeyer said:

A very good write, PD. We ARE experiencing ourselves through the people around us. Sometimes in a good way, sometimes in a not so good way. Then, instead of getting mad or upset, we do have to take a good look at ourselves to find the truth. I do believe that if we love somebody we give up part of ourselves and together with the other person become a new whole.
You went pretty deep here!

A sad read, probably difficult to write. The childhood stuff was not your fault. Glad you are healing through this process. Good luck to you and your healing heart!

A sad read which must have been painful to write Dan -- questions asked that have no one answer as troubles come by the score to some - yet the piece shows so clearly the results of childhood abuse. Thanks my friend for sharing such hurtful memories.
