I go along with all four of your one-liners, except the hip thing. With me it is more of a belly thing.
Love \'age and sin...\', but we can still dream, can we?
Love the painting. Am amazed at how well you do perspectives and details, especially in a watercolor. The windows are exquisitely done, not easy with watercolors where you don\'t paint white and cannot really overpaint as in acrylics. Guess your engineering background is showing through a little bit.

Growing old is always better than the alternative. The wear and tear on the outside is not an indication of wear on the inside. We seem to gain perspective after the experience of age. Sometimes even new ways to look at life. A toast to experience my friend.

I\'m having a real fight keeping the weight down - have a 20 minute routine every morning which gets me out of breath and eat sensibly but it\'s still a struggle. Cheers Andy.

Michael, beautifully written, and I agree with SL, that last stanza is something else, you may be smug for as long as you want! And for a five minute job, that painting is amazing!

Maybe I should be, but am not retired yet, Michael. Saturday for me is a day of chores, so I am not so sure I would want every day of the week to be like that. :-)
Like the poem, though!

A witty poem Michael. Thanks very much.

A sweet treat once a week such as a muffin is not too bad provided one exercises and eats sensibly the rest of the week.

Keep writing in 2018.
