FIRST LOVE

Cor! So sweet and charming. Wasn\'t like that for me in the first love stakes. I bet most of us men were too confused with our approaching adulthood and machismo to be sweetly romantic at such tender years. That stuff arrived later for me. I enjoyed reading this beautifully written piece.

This poem brought back a memory from a time, late sixties I believe, when on a visit to Madrid I watched Francisco Franco address a large crowd from the steps of a building. They were cheering; \"Franco, Franco!\". He was a politician, indeed!
Your poem captures a politician\'s nature well, Michael.

Very well written, Michael, and I do like the subject matter, a subject that is not written about too often (maybe with the exception of Outback). He\'ll be a politician yet, and doesn\'t sound like a villain yet!
