The final stanza holds much truth to it, and the entire poem shows the great care you took to write it.
Wonderfully done, Fay.

You know it\'s exceptionally exquisite Ms. Fay
especially when I have to look up words.

\"Gowns of fragile filigree curled lightly\" that is smooth like silk

quenching like a Cabernet Sauvignon.

👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 excellent work

My dear Fay,

As the expression goes...
—Been there, done that—
The end result of it all is extraordinary!

It has made me stronger, independent, and best of all experience a love deeper than ever before! The love we experienced for one another when we first met will always be there! No more doubts!

This great line truly describes how I felt at the time...
“Life in the wake of changes acts
out a merciless course”...

Thank you for sharing this outstanding write! You are truly a poetess I very much admire!

~Laura~

GOOD NIGHT FAY : Its gone 12 noon (Thursday) here & my Clinic is 2 pm ! BETRAYAL is a big word and a denial of all that BRIAN & I stand for ! WE have been separated by 11,500 miles for Eight Months and because we have found TRUE LOVE and a bit more mature (30 & 35) the absence has made us stronger. We both wear engagement rings which helps and most KIWIS & MAORIS respect my status. A few have asked me for a date but I have always refused ! I either go out with RUTH or in a Group and I know BRIAN would never be unfaithful ~ AMEN
Each of the verses in your Perfect Poem expresses a betrayal of TRUST. I know Couples who have faced \"Bitter Betrayal by their Partner : some have survived : but others have ended the relationship and ended up SADDER but WISER Betrayal is something People have to climb out of or PERISH ! Brian and I keep in regular touch and lots of the Poems we post are COLLABORATIONS. We never do (and never will !) take each other for granted. Thanks for posting this poem as a salutary wraning to any would-be BETRAYERS !

Blessings & Love in the Spirit

A lost love through betrayal is more injurious than a loss, and your poem paints the repercussions exactly. Fighting \"on safer ground\" with \"a taste for forgiveness\" is the best result. Keep \"climbing\" - Phil A.

This was so good in so many ways is so hard to gain trust again, I had this thought yesterday and can\'t wait to share with you.

Your ending is so powerful, shaken but on solid ground with wiser hands.
Thank you for this and the quote with a little cry ;)

Ahh, yes. Will trust allow us to see things for what they truly are? To have faith in ourselves is a difficult thing. You have said well what you meant, and here it rings true.

A fine write Fay. We suffer ourselves too:\' A double-minded man (or person) is unstable in all their ways\' says James in New Testament. We suffer through not making up our minds: \'Shall I; Shan\'t I?\' then may miss opportunities if we take the wrong choice.

A church may seem a bit ghoulish. Being Protestant, one highlight of their year is Archbishop Thomas Cranmer\'s martyrdom on 21st March each year. Erm, a nice start to Spring. Doh!
Well, hopefully they don\'t rub their hands in glee, and say \'Oh goody!\'
