these splendid words of Phil\'s are responsible for invoking several different images in my mind simultaneously .. and that aint easy at the best of times .. Firstly Mr. L.N. Cohen\'s beautiful love song So Long Marianne wakes me up gently .. and I subsequently imagine Marianne writing him a letter, maybe coded or cryptically within a song or poem in return .. Phil\'s words also take me back to when I was a homeless student and a woman called Nancy took me off the street and let me sleep on her sofa .. Nancy was a good time girl, well past her sell by date and died a week after one of her punters beat up on her .. I remember Nancy both fondly and well and have written about her several times to date .. and if I continue to write, I may do so again .. Anyway, I waffle on too much, I\'m gonna round off by saying a BIG thank you to both Phil and to Nancy ... Neville

Cyclothematic Poetaster

I did my homework and googled Cyclothematic (mood swings) and Poetaster (inferior poet). I don\'t know about mood swings, but there is nothing inferior here. I couldn\'t stop smiling as I read each couplet, witty and so clever. Your summation in the last stanza is priceless. I loved every vowel and consonant!!!

Far more than just ink on paper ..

you have freed it for the world and for all time ..

This really needs to be read time and time again not locked in a drawer somewhere, or upon a shelf ..

It (I mean Cyclothematic Poetaster) is far more than just the sum of its parts even .. it is overflowing with both witticisms and universal truths .. I take my effin hat off to you Phil ... Neville

I\'d say this is more than a small tale dear Phil such a sad love story, opening the readers eyes to such horrors of love and worldly beliefs that we can never.truly live happily in peace. This stanza really is a beauty

Broken hearted people wear tears on their smiling faces.

Their lessons, perhaps too late for learning, have the basis

” A person’s goodness will always shine through the darkness.”

However, in this bloody war, that light has no sharpness

Kudos my friend. ❤️
