Nice use of metaphore in this superb poem Lorna. Love the symphony as well.

Lorna,

Thank you for sharing a spot on description of last night’s storm…trees are down strewn in the middle of the street others resting on some cars. Ironically they were going to be pruned today and tomorrow.

I like the contrast between your choice of the pic and Beethoven’s symphony.

Thanks Lorna – that ‘s a very vivid account of a thunder storm…in the morning? For me they seem to occur late afternoon or evening here.

I suppose you don’t want to hear my interpretation of such an event? No? Thought not…too late:
The heavy booted fellas upstairs are shifting the furniture again. They’ve knocked the water tank in the process and it is pouring out. The water has short circuited the electricity supply and there are flashes everywhere…

But Lorna , I\'m still not sure if Uncle Vanya flogged off the estate or not.. ..
A bit attention seeking with that vial, wasn\'t he?

\'The heat of summer
Dragging at one\'s feet
Supine beneath the willow

Springing turf to rest on as a pillow\'

and such an immersive read
despite its melancholic feel,
thank you dear poet)

Being alone does not necessarily lead to loneliness, there is so much in life to appreciate even if we are lone.

An hypnotic feel to this disclosure of what shivers a Sunday can deliver to those who hear time ticking on through Sunday quiet. A really evocative read dear Lorna.

Lorna,

I’m so happy it’s Monday morning!
Phew 😮‍💨

An intriguing and hypnotizing feeling came over me when listening to your excellent choice of video for your poem. The uneasiness of being alone on a Sunday night can be daunting.

Sunday? used to be a bugger once.. now? Long time retired, Sunday just like every other day - especially during Covid lockdown....which looks like a long one...I just like my own company.. plus a visit to MPS... however I do know what yer mean...because you did it so neatly.

The eerie knowledge that one, alone, is heading passively toward the end of... end of what... end of control of ones faculties, end of freedom as a \'home\' beckons, health as susceptability to some gross illness?
I enjoyed the art and skill of your poem today and it\'s haunting tone.

I\'m with Neil here, Lorna I respectfully suggest you leave their thingamajig strictly alone . While your overflowing inbox might make you feel very wanted, these relationships are superficial and can only lead to successive blows to your self esteem when they turn out to be devoid of depth...... or something., blah blah...Your very own Agony Uncle.
