At our local pond it\'s a competition between seagulls (in chillier weather - we\'re not near the coast), ducks, moorhens, coots, and even a goose turned up. A crane did not come very close for food.

Their habit caused them to do horrible things and i would keep a respectful distance to avoid being taken advantage of. All too often tragic ends make local news. All too often addicts are wrongly identified as being the dregs of society. So misunderstood, they are victims in many ways of crimes lurking in our society.
A very moving piece today.
