Faved! Not culling, but this poem! Horrifying what we humans are capable of. So much is said here in only 17 syllables. Excellent haiku! šš¤ā¤ļøš¤

A piercing, haunting haiku. It shakes one soul and muddies oneās thoughts at the waterhole of coexistence. Very nicely written

Great word play herd/heard
The visuals are graphic, I didnāt just see elephants. I saw whales and genocide too. And the noise, ā¦ā¦.
Imagery has always been important to me in poetry to convey thoughts and feelings. You nailed this one. Brevity can open up so much thought.
The whole subject matter is repugnant, but it needs to be talked about to stop it happening. Brilliant

A lengthy post would not cover this as immediately and comprehensively as your haiku and title has. A gut wrench in seventeen syllables. Faved of course, Neville.

Whoās counting. Not me. I looked up Yukiko to find it is a feminine Japanese name. It also mentioned Happiness. I had two distinctly different images here Neville arising out of blinding white sheets. I saw snow, but I also saw something completely different which made me smile. Beautiful.

I have found that even in Nihongo there are awesome haiku that donāt quite follow the syllabic 5-7-5 pattern, having left room for asymmetric beauty alongside typical symmetry.

Neville the artistry of leaving this almost haiku. One syllable short is a brilliant step in adaptation. The most beautiful image of perfection blemished by one small item just as it is in nature.

Amen, could be twice as long. Not sure about world war, we humans may erase ourselves in any number of ways before it comes to that. Which, unfortunately, is all too likely. Good work here.

The inevitable day of dear, dear Self. Why on earth in lamenting this horrendous state of affairs you cull smirks and a fit of giggles from me, I can\'t guess. Lovely and excellently rendered tribute to the miserable condition of the world, a haunting yet tripping poignancy in tow. Thank you for sharing.

A wonderful tribute to the moon Goddess Neville. And her halo, not seen so often but memorable always. Could be a metaphor here as well. Just lovely poetry.

What happened, Neville? Having a good spew very much on those terms here does it for me sometimesā¦ and briefly makes me feel better, or more true to myself (though with care - you donāt want to be accused of all that āmisery and agroā that sometimes gets pinned to me in various formsā¦.)
I just canāt cop too much optimism or distraction which manifests itself as buttercups and daises given the state of the worlā¦ā¦ā¦.
