Another November

Good write N. We got a little bored of it at school. Partly because of our age of youth maybe, but a rather gruff Colonel-type teacher gave us a \'lecture\' of it each November. Probably entitled \'I remember when....!\' lasting about 5 hours - or it felt that long.

Indeed, lest we forget Neville. I went to church yesterday dressed in suit and tie as a sign of respect for those who had fallen and I was somewhat annoyed that I was only one of half a dozen who dressed appropriately, even the preacher (not a vicar) was not wearing a tie and they were 7 minutes late for the eleven o\'clock two minute silence. I get very annoyed when people do not show proper respect on these occasions.

As a teenager I theorized that every human being lives and dies as a god, or at least the son of one, and that the man called Jesus was no different than the rest of us, and that we are all crucified in the end. I never had anyone make that point, intentionally or otherwise, till now.

Emophilia has a totally new added meaning, you know... it means adoring those kids with purple lipstick and sad eyes and pink hair bumming cigarettes and doodling little puppies in their notebooks. But my question is, how much did the doc bill for that hour?

And even as the ink is fast drying many such are bleeding out in various parts of our 21st century civilised, digitalised, bubble wrapped world. Some some to have forgotten, others more than willing to do it again in order to be reminded.

Neville I didnβt know that you were out that type but then again I guess historically we all are. A wonderful right that leads one along to a surprise ending. Most lovely written I found it highly intriguing.

Falling in love is not something one does quickly .... except that I did so. How soon? I swear instantaneously. So, I can connect with your poem\'s sentiment. \"I fell in love an hour ago,\" felt very familiar to me. The whole of your poem was more like a reminiscence. Loved it. - Phi A.

I shouldnβt laugh at this scenario, but I did. How positively exhausting to fall in love so easily and also mind blowing the difficult situations that could lead to. Far better being a control freak :) I liked Dave the Dawgs take, wot fine financial acumen he has :) Learned a new word today. Life long learning and all that.

Lost in the wilderness, of any sort, becomes a game of survival. In the winter, it is more dangerous. One must stay dry, seek shelter, find food. A lack of familiarity with one\'s surroundings compounds the danger. People are social animals requiring companionship. When left alone they feel depressed. That\'s what I got from your poem. It seemed more of an allegory to me. Much enjoyed reading this. - Phil A.

Neville this reminds me of the story to build a fire. It has a cold feel to it and the metaphor as well feels cold. I like it quite a bit, even though I donβt like cold weather anymore.

May that little girlβs eyes always sparkle and catch the light in life wherever it is, and may her Grandfather have many opportunities to witness it. Prisms dancing are so beautiful. Refracted light on glass shards always memorable. Such a visual delight Neville.
