Not exactly sure of the meaning of \"culling\" but it doesn\'t sound good.
Your poem seems to imply removal. Anyway, a brief but interesting change of pace for you. Much enjoyed. - Phil A.

Violence is so not you , but I am reminded how drink can turn people into monsters. I left an earlier response which I deleted because it didn’t reflect the seriousness of the subject. Culling is such a violent word and it reminds me of whales being culled and the blood letting. I am sure you see the results of plenty of the aftermath of violence in your line of work. A short poem with an incredible amount of depth to it. Happy Wednesday my friend.

A fantasy very similar to my own where I own a vaporiser which immediately disappears someone who causes me displeasure....that would cut the world population down ....considerably..........

I wouldn\'t want to cull KP exactly, but I\'m horrible to her to take her down a peg or three. Things like serving her sewage for dinner while I have huge roast dinners. heehee.

Time zones and odd domestic habits – I got to this one late, Neville.
Agreed reasons for staying can be complicated, but underlying it all are structural reasons, which I humbly submit are economic.
DV a hot topic right now, with the incorrigibility of men high on the list of wittering points. But above all never mention the unavailability of economic easily accessed alternative accommodation which not only makes exit from that situation difficult, but forces partnership in order to get there in the first place.

Why do so many remain and take the beatings when they could be \"free as a bird?\" I\'ll never understand it.
A masterful depiction of a relationship gone bad, very bad. I think you may have captured her exact feelings at the end. I think you win the gold for today. (Olympic reference) - Phil A.

Another from your latest anthology. Freedom, but at a cost. The she here appears to care deeply about the lost he, yet she is the one I see as totally crushed. In fact a pulpy mess. Now where does the guilt lie? There has been a battering of sorts here for both of them (emotional). I see a painting depicting the whole sorry scene. You tell a story here Neville in rich colour. Happy Tuesday my friend.

Oh those glimpses of sunlight that brighten a cloudy day, they do give such a lift don’t they Neville? My dog Solo has a very happy life. I guess it’s because she is content with her lot. We all need a little sunshine in a cloudy world. A lovely read.

Makes me think of morning walks, sky clouded over and the feeling of seeing a tiny chink in the clouds with a glimpse of bright sunlight. I love the metaphor and the sentiment it invokes.

Overcast with bits of sunshine, sounds like a forecast for life. We all need to enjoy the bits more to overcome the gray clouds.
A poem that shows how personal bits of sunshine can salvage an otherwise dismal day. Loved it. - Phil A

At a certain age we give up on \"friends with benefits\" and settle for friends who are breathing. Your poem is one that senses the later part of life, which is funny if your sense of humor becomes self-deprecating. Got a chuckle out of this one. - Phil A.
