Thinking Back on Polly

This a case study, Neville? When ‘sliding doors’ becomes a matter of life or death, then it is more than even a tragedy.

I wonder it our ancesters spoke of the times before fire? I often look back on (those days) and just feel happy that I was able to live them. I got the feeling Neville and have to agree

Yes, I of course, was on \'The Rocket\' steam train when it first reached the terrifying speed of 29mph, I think it was.
I give KP a literal kettle of fish for her dinner! lol.

Oh, the tune we played then. Dear Neville. What a kettle of fish it was. You could make love and not die. Watch TV and not cry.

Relationships over the years and how some things never change. Although the flesh rots the emotions remain fresh, a child\'s heart in an old body. Absolutely lovely

Who would not want to hear those whispered words? You break hearts with your poetry. You are certainly pressing all the write buttons with this one Neville. There’s poetry and then there is this. Beautiful.

Two fine writes Neville.
The first shows that moment when something you see brings back memories and the second shows that \'things\' cannot overrate love.

Grand Mort .. & .. The Transient Value of Slaves

Yes, there’s cheerful. We will all turn to dust one day, wherever we are and whatever our rank. No one escapes the reaper, rich or poor. Your second poem reminds me of twelve years a slave. The awful existence of those young women owned by their slave masters, nothing but shameful. They were whipped as well. Heart breaking. Sad to say modern day slavery is going on under our own noses today , while some keep reflecting on 300 years ago. They need to wake up and smell the coffee. Well penned poems.

I think Africa is close to your heart. This is such an endearing write, watching a small child at play. A lovely piece.
Your second poem reminded me of the comfort and security that bolt holes, caravans, camper vans and boats can have on their owners. Letting go of them is like losing a good friend. So many memories to reflect on over the years. Yes, there’s alot of love and history here. Two fine poems. Just caught the special offer before it was withdrawn. I do love a bargain Neville.

Both contain that same air of association one has with items that bring memories and thoughts of another time. Both also have lingering love that shadows the present. Love is one of the great motivators and it lingers long after it has past. Lovely Neville

Well, I stands corrected, having read the previous commentary before opening my proverbial trap, mistakenly believing you endorsed Political Correctness, as it\'s termed (which, incidentally, I do NOT).
\"...dust to dust--\" was nevir pritty, but it allus happens, exceptin\' in a rarer few instances.
Me likes this prettily rendered discussion on the painful reality haunting all, its none too subtle poignancy trailing all we do. Thank you very much for sharing, good Sir.
