A fine write Dan. Erm, I forgot, and did not remember, so I could not write a poem. Doh! lol. Well, I could do one titled \'I forgot\'. heehee.

Ain\'t no saints here, likewise ain\'t no sinners neither..... we\'re all children of life trying to get by with the bag of burden we find on our shoulders as each day dawns.....
You\'re lucky to have the wisdom to think things through. There\'s a lot of positive out there just waiting to smile back at you.

I have read your post today several times and am still not sure whether there is far more here than immediately hits the eye.. your authors note has got me thinking... I do sense a certain fragile uncertainty.... I can be wrong.... I certainly was way back in 1974..... I will read your words again later my friend..... Neville

This really hit home for me, I got from this the hope but the darkness always seems more inviting, familiar somehow..

Paranoia is right
Neville said:

There will be many out here who can relate & totally so.. it seems and sounds like you are already confronting your demons and reaping the rewards... Oh\' and just between you and me.. I used to be terrified of public speaking until I was required to stand up on centre stage.. miked up and talk for two day stretches to a hundred or more psychiatrists and allied workers twice a month for a couple of years.... after the 3rd or 4th time.. it was easy.... Good luck Neville

Goldfinch60 said:

That paranoia an be conquered, all you need is to see the love in the peoples eyes, it may only be one person but that is the start and from there progression is bound to come.

Well yeah, kind of.
Look i used to be in bands, more than i care to remember, some brilliant some crap but...... when u hit the stage/mic just remember ppl want to be entertained and the more up front or outrageous u are the more entertaining you are.... my get out clause was \"never be YOURSELF on stage\" I would put on some \'alter ego\' cloak and act up. Self defence really Dan...cos if they hated it, it wasn\'t me they hated, it was the character i was portraying. Think about it mate.

Dan...Absolutely bang on the truth there mate! I couldn\'t agree more.
Your second line made me laugh out loud.
Springtime ahead is lightening up and you are too... so make sure you have a brill year.
I bet you\'ve found that, if you make yourself do some of the things you dread, they\'re not so dreadful after all.

A fine write Dan. I hated The Canterbury Tales in English at a school. Double whammy, as I couldn\'t understand half of it in ye olde language. Then read it in modern version and enjoyed it - seeing as I then knew what the author was on about!

Don\'t invite me to the open mic session - I will only sing! heehee. Who can bear it?! Go on stage and take the mic - before I jump in and sing!

I am so pleased that you are finding your way, yes mistakes happen but the support that you are getting more than make up for that. Go forth to that open mike Dan, go forth.

Go for it man. Theres a person inside you waiting for his public. Your fears are falling away and any time now that geezer is gonna jump out from within you and frighten us all to bits - i hope!

Dan,

I enjoyed reading this poem!
I sense much positivity threaded within!
Like a baby learning to walk...
...one step at a time...
From the crawling lane...
to the stand up lane...
to the running lane!
We’re all there to cheer you on ...
and if you should stumble,
...DO NOT FEAR...
we’re here to help you up!
Nothing to fear!
You’ll be just fine!

Is it right to listen to the heart and mind. ??? You pose as a question here.

You\'ve discovered there is a poet in you. And a very truthful, sincere soul shines out of your writing. Writing worth reading and learning from.... learning from a man who is so sincere he exposes his frailty to us readers. That in itself is a lesson in humanity.
You, me, and most others here have no option but to listen to our hearts and minds. See my poem today Dan.... it\'s what you are... it\'s what you do.... and you do it well.

A few words for my lady
Neville said:

I have never found it easy reciting any of my work in public.. to attempt it on camera, is almost impossible to comprehend.. and here is a guy who is quite used to talking for hours on end in front of several hundred people... So for the simple fact you did something I would not even attempt, and you did it so well, I salute you sir.... I also thought your poem was a great way to demonstrate your depth of feeling for another.... peace and all good things, Neville
