I love those last two lines. Im that rebel who lives within the rules but flouts them when i can get away with it.
Yes those rules were written by \'nature\' long before a man tried out new ones, long before they invented religion to scare people into submission, long before we clothed ourselves with civilisation.

Hey i\'ve got a huge white van. You\'ve given me ideas with that picture.

Hang on to that insight my friend.. yes of course it will pass, it sometimes helps tho to be reminded of that doesn\'t it... keep jotting stuff down too.. writing can be an extremely powerful self help intervention and help to lift us up....You express yourself very well here in your poem Letting the Darkness Out.... Well, I\'m worn out! I been trying to break out of my shell; get myself out of this hole I\'m in; pull my socks up and get on with things; stop crying over spilt milk; etc. By the time I\'ve done all that, there\'s no time for anything else. lol.

Hey Dan, I think it did flow indeed as one. The thoughts like a journey of discovery on my mind with the vision of a safe place.

A place to just be. However that may come. And to accept.

It gave me a little spark of hopefulness this morning! 🌟

The essence of the words of Desiderata come to mind again reading your words Dan.....
... for you are a child of the universe with as much right to be here as the stars and the trees....

A poem that speaks of one totally at home with oneself and unashamedly candid with potential spoilers. Wisdom so direct. Enjoyed this immensely!

The mind can be the most powerful thing to resurrect you, just think of the good in your life and look to the future that that good will do for you.

I once read Dan that the mind has power but not over will - there is a lot of food for thought in this well crafted piece of work.

Fine write Dan -- a writer\'s passion needs an outlet for as this verse states the result is a flow towards consciousness - worth all the efforts of yielding methinks. Great read.
