Look In The Mirror.
Cheeky Missy said:
I wonder. I only took selfies because I liked what I saw in the mirror, however the camera had different notions. Sometimes I wonder how on earth I ever thought I was attractive since it obviously is painfully false. Beautifully rendered conundrum with a haunting poignancy and excellent imagery. Thank you for sharing.

Would You Call Me God?.
Cheeky Missy said:
No. The most curious fact is that, \"...in Him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also His offspring. Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man\'s device. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent: because He hath appointed a day, in which He will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom He hath ordained; whereof He hath given assurance unto all men, in that He hath raised Him from the dead.\" (Acts 17: 28-31) Having both given us the Scriptures and this world, \"...for the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful: but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.\" (Romans 1: 18-21) Just because evil men and seducers wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived, we\'re not justified in such blasphemy. You\'re understandably angered if such absurdity is what you\'ve been taught, but it\'s all false, as you vaguely realize. That said, this is excellently rendered with perfect imagery and a damning poignancy.

Cheeky Missy said:
This is akin to My Fair Lady realized. Poor Harry! Guess they\'d best leave the honey on the kitchen countertop next picnic since the bees are in season and Mary\'s man can\'t tell the difference between her sun tan lotion and the sweetener. You\'re too fun, though I can\'t side with her vengeful behavior. Beautifully rendered with excellent good humor, superb imagery and a haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.

Would You Call Me God?.
Goldfinch60 said:
Your thought is so right Tobani. I used to be a Christian but whern myu wife suffered and died from dementia where was the Christian god. I came to the conclusion that organised religion is a farce, we all have our own beliefs in life and that is the way I now go with my positive ways.

Would You Call Me God?.
Tristan Robert Lange said:
Actually, I would call you human! 🤣 Ever notice gods turn out to be as bad, if not worse, than we are? Then again, maybe that is because we write about them...therefore they are really projections of ourselves with superpowers. For me, that does not discount God existing, but it does make me open to differing views because I am not sure there is one right answer. It shows how little we really know in the end...and that is humbling. Great poem, my friend. Can\'t say there\'s a good answer, but valid questions for sure. Well done on this! 🌹👏

I really find it hard to add to that. But that\'s the mindset of people who are religious. I, as an atheistic agnostic find it impossible to understand their position. However, it is obvious that many folks find comfort in their what i consider to be erroneous beliefs, and if those beliefs help get them through life, then....
But if at any time their beliefs impinge on my own rights then screw \'em....
And if you tell me to have a lovely weekend, I\'ll find ya and have a quiet word.....😇🙃

There are names we whisper with hope, placing faith in unseen hands. Yet silence lingers, wars rage, and prayers dissolve into emptiness If love is spoken but never felt, if mercy remains untouched, then devotion alone cannot lift the weight that suffering leaves behind. 🙏🏻🕊️

A piercing critique of divine hypocrisy—your words unmask the silence of the claimed almighty. Power, not mercy, wears the crown in this bold revelation.

Harsh and to the point a powerful write that speaks with anger and disgust at what many see as God. Well constructed in question form it places the burden back on the reader to answer such questions that seemingly have only one answer. How can anyone worship such a god. But we do and have to ask why do we. Very nicely written.
