As much as we have learnt from nature, and have ourselves excelled in many ways, the feats of different creatures still leave us in awe.

Yes I too am mesmerized by the ballet performed by the schools of fish and the flock of birds.

Thnx for the pic and the poem

Agape indeed. Firstly, thats is a really super picture.
You capture the briskness of these high speed acrobatic aerial delighters. Thank goodness for slow motion filming so that us slower mortals can actually see what is going on and begin to understand. Together with bats and other winged delights, these creature live their everyday at such amazing speed compared to us.
Delightful.

THANKS FAY ANGELA HERE : Great Dynamic Photo that inspired a Great Dynamic Poem ! Elegant choice of WORDS (see MICHAELS Poem) and great meter for dynamic flow ! It is interesting that most mammals (except for Tree Dwellers) live on the two dimensional LITHOSPHERE whereas BIRDS live in the 3D ATMOSPHERE and FISH in the 3D HYDROSPHERE. My Field of Interest & Study is MOBILITY & DEXTERITY ~ Anatomical FORM & FUNCTION and it is very interesting how ANIMALIA are modified for the SPHERE they occupy ! HUMANS can only fly and live underwater because of technology they cannot do it unaided ! Land is overcrowded but SEA & AIR do not present alternative viable habitats ! Humans Ag : suggest jealousy ! *O FOR THE WINGS OF A DOVE ..... !* and *WOULD YOU RATHER BE A FISH ........ ?* Thanks for sharing : very thought provoking !

BLESSINGS : PEACE & LOVE

RE-WRITING RHYMES.

Great re-write Fay, I do that occasionally and rewrite famous poems with my own words, it is great fun.

Mary had a little lamb,
She went and called it Fay,
And every where that Mary went.
Fay would play with hay.

Thanks FAY ~ A great rewrite of the OATPC very amusing ! Nursery Rymes & Hymns & Songs are all prey to a rewrite ~ I never object except for the Scriptures because they are sacred in any Language or Epoch. The BIBLE has been translated into 2000 of the 6000 known languages ~ but that provides ~ through the GIDEONS & the Bible Society etc ~ a Copy for everyone. Weve been in a Local School today with the GIDEONS. Odly enough Our Poem today is about *OLD THINGS* highlighting GENE AUTRY (1950) singing *DEAR HEARTS & GENTLE PEOPLE* and We wouldnt change a word. Thanks for brightening up our MORNING (B) & EVENING (A)

BRIAN here ~ Thanks FAY for another GEM fashioned in the ingenuity of your Mind. The COOK BOOK looks Early 20th Century and reflects (My MOTHERS memory) of my Maternal Great-Grandma (b. 1900) ~ The scales ~ the range ~ the Milk Jug etc ! Life was much harder in the early 1900\'s but in many ways was less stressful before WW1 (1914 - 18) over 1OO years ago ! Few peple had mortgages or owned a petrol driven vehicle ! Travelling by Pony & Trap must have been more soothing & less polluting. No TV etc to worry one ~ wholesome food and plenty of exercise ! The value of close Extended Families etc etc. You paint a real but in some ways an idyllic picture ~ very NOSTALGIC ! All Families up & down the Country ~ were in fact WOMAN FED from the Cradle to the Grave ! Thanks for sharing & caring !

Love this Fay
There hasn\'t been a time when women were lesser than men in my mind
My dad came from Arbroath (The smokies)where there are stories of the women who carried the men out to their boats in the morning to save them being wet all day.
This reminded me of them.

Wonderful tale and tribute piece BRAVO!

Wonderful taken for granted days of yore. You give initially a really warm, comforting \'home\' feeling. A place my childhood memories rely upon as the bedrock of security and love, all as i said, taken for granted.
As you will know, the scene is not totally gone as there are a minority of homes similarly managed by a mum.
Really a warm and enjoyable read bringing to mind my mum and her devotion to me and my siblings.

Must have been a harrowing if not death-defying occupation. I cannot imagine being down in a hole in the ground.
This is the second poem I\'ve read today that mentions food, and now I\'m growing hungry for some British grub. a pasty or a meat pie, and a pint would do just fine.
Oh yeah, poetry. that\'s why we\'re here. Loved your poem. Was thrown by some of the language, but you saved me at the end. How long did this mining continue? When did it stop? Liked the way you formatted this poem, breaking it as you did. I think it adds emphasis to the individual ideas you were conveying. Much enjoyed this read. _ Phil A.
