HEY FAY ~ You\'re in my neck of the woods today ~ Deforestation ~ CO2 Increase & Global Warming etc. An elegant but very sad Poem. As you know PLANTS absorb CO2 and release O2 by photosynthesis to produce GLUOCOSE (& starch & cellulose). ANIMALS breath in O2 which burns (metabolises) GLUCOSE to form CO2 & H2O. This symbiosis between PLANTS & ANIMALS produced a favourable atmospheric CO2 content of 250 ppm for thousands of Years. Since the Industrial Revolution Man has lived outside Nature and the CO2 content has risen to 450 ppm and could rise to 1000 ppm by 2100. The reasons are an increase in Population (to 15 billion ?) Urbanisation (> 50%) and Deforestation (increasing !).
Thanks for drawing our attention to this Lunacy together with Mister Trump using more Fossil Fuels etc.
Yours as always BRIAN !
Please check ANGELA\'s Poem \"WELLINGTON\" also our new FUSION \"HOLIDAY PLANS for 2019\" ~ please add a Poem ~
Thanks B & A 🧡🧡

We cut down a million trees a day. we are contaminating the air we breath, we pollute the water we drink all for the sake of wealth. It makes me hope in the glorious days when Mother Nature shows her hand at last, and wipe these demons away. A wonderful tribute towards the health of our trees, Fay.

But - a conservation group locally campaigned. A concrete-jungle - carbuncle on the landscape - of a road system next to a riverside has been scrapped for second time. Hooray!
We\'ve some woody areas not too far from where I live, for pleasant rambles. Not so much this season though!

A fine write Fay. A terrible thing - we\'ll suffer for it sooner or later. Trees that have there much longer than us, gone in a moment. Well, I know some on MPS are old as a dinosaur (me anyway!), so we could be older than those trees! heehee.

Thank you FAY for a very incisive Poem ! It contrasts the placid BOVINE accommodation of NIGHTNESS ~ We just turn the lights on ! By refusing to acalimatise to NIGHTNESS puts us outside Nature ! The generaton of all that ELECTRICITY causes Global Warming !
We can learn much from Cattle as they submit to NIGHTNESS ~ Silence (V 2) Patience (V 3) Uncomplaining (V 4) ~ So we must always Look & Learn from Nature ! Your poem is almost Burnsian ~ you have crafted a GEM from rural observation ! O to be in CORNWALL ! Love in the SPIRIT ~ Brian & Angela 🧡🧡🧡🧡

The way you capture your readers mind, re-pace their perception with your wonderful descriptions, even prying into bovine mind-set. Amazing, beguiling poetry flows from you.
Once again you bring the countryside of England to me in my semi detached urban reality. And a smile to my face.

Had lunch at the Waterfront listening to a live jazz band and looking out across the canal basin - and there I saw my first kingfisher of the year - all while eating lunch - all is well with the world. Loved the write.

a super poem Fay and yes, I agree with those sentiments.... I was only gazing up at the cliffs in West Bay yesterday and it looked like some of the gulls might be rearing their young on some of the most precarious looking ledges.. then thought, maybe it is my imagination.. it is still January after all.. though the daffodils are in bloom here, so who knows.... I like how you look at nature in a deeper thought provoking way.

Subtle. I read this as the human condition. Emotionally we are creatures of seasons we create. Let us hope we don\'t become too damaged by our winters frosts, and that we remain ever ready to blossom when sunshine once again lights our eyes.
